The chief designer of J31 made a public statement that "there will good news on the J31 soon!"
They also claim that there was a large break-through and the main designer has said that there will be good news soon. It is, of course, superior in every performance parameter to the 2 prototypes that preceded it, which should be a given.
Regarding, the WS-19, the reporter said, "From the small changes noticed to the rear section related to engine fixture, we can definitely be assured that it will use WS-19..." So there is some interpretation there rather than a direct statement from any source that the engine is ready to integrate.
My only concern with this video is that it's not outstandingly professional as it seems to be narrated by a reporter rather than someone in military uniform with military links. And also, she keeps saying that the models at the Paris airshow were 3.0, which, from what I remember, we decided were actually 2.0 and sloppy 1.0, correct me if I'm wrong of course.
