Airshow in Shenyang. Pretty sure this is a mock-up.
It surely is, the question however is, has it any meaning in the sense of PLA interest or not.
The vertical stabs have a very high off centerline angle, almost like a V-tail, not so steep as the YF-23, but much steeper than the F-22/F-35, no doubt to cut RCS, although the FC-31 has a conventional horizontal stabilizer.
entertaining to say the least, since its at Shenyang, I'm not sure we could draw any conclusions about PLA/PLANAF interest, since that's home to Shenyang?
An air show with much less influence than Zhuhai. The show focuses on "general purpose aviation". The site is one created by Shenyang city as a general purpose aviation industry base for something like Cessna. I doubt PLA will (ever) show up there.
Thanks taxiya, that puts it in perspective, but Shenyang is no doubt still very proud of this bird, and rightly so, if the PLANAF doesn't pick this up as a fleet defense bird, I think they are really missing out on an amazing airplane? but as we all know, these things are best discerned by a skillful tea leaf reader?? I've kind of lost my feel for their thinking since President Xi came into power?
I guess I'm just not on the same wavelength?
