Is there a reason (or does anyone have an idea), why the J-31 arrived so early to the show !??
... there are still 14 days left !
That's relatively simple Deino, to secure a good parking spot,,,,, in reality the tech demonstrator may have very rudimentary avionics, and likely no radar..... weather is always a consideration this time of year in the Northern Hemisphere, it is subject to change, and as Daniel has alluded, it is very important to get set up, depending particularly on what type of flying display they might "put up"??
As I have stated the J-31 is a very fine aircraft for a flying display, and if someone where to request an aircraft to perform a flight display, the J-31 is the planform that would be choosen by the thinking man... with the main wing and CG near the mid-fuselage, likely the center of lift as well? the J-31 promises to be a very agile performer..... the better question is why would AVIC fly a tech demonstrator to Zuhai, possibly their only one, and the only rational answer is that they need to generate some "buzz" and cash flow/interest... the recent picture of the near inverted flight is the first one with any real aerobatics, and as a result, it it may tell us that the flying display will not be a "barn burner". On the other hand it may be a go for broke attempt to impress the guests as well as the home team, it will indeed be interesting to see how this all shakes out, and it will express "confidence" in their aircraft that will challenge Chengdu's very conservative program to step up the pace???
