J-31 hardware and solfware are likely 70%~80% compability to bigger (and expensive )j-20.it is likely that we might see J-31 enter into full production much earlier than J-20.

I disagree. How Project 310 could enter full production earlier than J-20 when PLAAF already backed J-20 and Project 310 is said to be private??

Small frontal profile and fast acceleration and climb were the only good things American test pilots said about early Mig-23s.

The MiG-23 was slightly better than the F-4E, Mirage F1 and Viggen it was designed to beat, the MiG-23 was a very good design for its time, in fact it surpasses the F-104, F-105, A-4 or F-4 it was designed to beat.

The MiG-23 shot down F-4s, Mirage F1s and A-4s.
It was only surpassed by the F-15 and F-16 in air combat.

Probably the requirement for Project 310 is much simpler...

They do not need a super agile fighter like J-20, no super cruise, less range and less payload. Stealth is first priority for Project 310. If Russian agree to sell RD-33MK(TVC plus higher thrust) for Project 310, it will has a high chance of completing it faster than J-20 if a buyer is ready. The buyer need not be China if export is approved.

I`m sorry if I break the forum rules, but I`m just a newbie in the filed of military and to this forum. I just see a series of photoes about Chinese fighters and I want to ask what models they are, however I cannot post on the club room.

I found this forum randomly a couple of weeks ago and watch your topics silent, cause it`s a universe I never touched before. Well, there are so many people with insightful views and professional knowledge here. If you could help me out, I will appericate it.

@Kei3000- If you look at the top of the page and click the SinoDefence.com tab. From there you can navigate to aircraft via the menu on the left and also find a wealth of other info although its not entirely up to date. Another good place for you could be here >

Looks like PLAAF J-11A fighter, not J-11B because these electronic pods on both wing-sides and carried Russia R-77 missiles.

Thank you for the precise answer, I find lots on the local web but cannot distinguish each sub-model and a general series such as J-10 or J-11. As you can recognize the missile hung on them, it`s very helpful, because I see on the webs, different sub-model may have some differences in performance and usage.

Addition for that, is it J-8, J-10 or Xiaolong in the below photo? It has two engines, but only one tail unit.

It was a photo snaped in Ning Xia Province.

Size doesn't matter! It's what you do with it. ;)
