I think the red landing gear bay interior is quite interesting, haven't seen any other planes with that colour. Is it only to look good or is there any deeper meaning to this?

Maybe they think they're the Christian Louboutin of fighter planes.

 ... funny statement in the last sentence.

Isn't that a Global Times article? They gave credit to a photographer for the pic which possibly means SAC gave access for publicity.

On a side note about grainy bad photography... I was thinking it's because these are nameless photographers for obvious reasons and why would you want to release your best pic because when it's released on the internet to go viral, you don't control it anymore. Why would you want your best pic out there when you don't get anything from it. In the US, photographers get paid and can sue for pics like that that are used without permission. These Chinese photgraphers get nothing so the only thing they have is to keep the best pic for themselves.

Now this may be silly... Do the J-20's control surfaces move more "violently: (wider range and faster) than those on other fighter jets, which may necessitate more poweful, hence bigger, actuators?

Considerations for good maneuverability at supersonic speed? (or while supercruising)

Cheaper and/or better protection against corrosion?

Love reading the comments, just shows you how out of the loop the American people are, or how arrogant they feel of their superiority and looking down upon others.

That's the best part. I love how now it's a rip-off of the F-15, F-18, and Mig-29. It's quite clear some of these people never knew China was flying stealth fighters before this article. I remember before I got on the internet all I heard from what other news sources was how China's air force was falling apart from aging airframes. Then I get on the internet and you see a whole new world from what is reported by the mainstream. And even with the age of the internet some clearly choose not to want to know certain information.

Some of the comments even claimed that China does not have an Area-51 because of the availability of pictures. They don't even MAKE an attempt at trying to understand China or their habits of unofficially "leaking" news.

I forgot which blogger but one used US testing procedures as a template to measure the J-20's development progress saying something about how the US would be at more prototypes and test flights by now. Someone here posted how many prototypes other aircraft have gone through. It didn't seem that much different and certainly not at the amount said US goes through by this blogger.

Yahoo comment is the best, the most thumb up comment is "How "stealthy" can it be if Yahoo was able to find it..."

follow by "Made with stolen US technology, no doubt."

Not sure if I should feel sad or laugh.
