It's the reaction you get to a rising power like china. The gap between the US and china is closing pretty quickly in all areas (economic, financial, military, political, science & technology, etc).

Let them react that way, they know very well china is rising whether they or anyone else likes it or not. They can mock china all they want, but that will not bring china down, just further motivate china.

You think it's bad now, it's going to get worse the closer china gets to us/western capabilities.
Its jealousy and denial. They are rattled.

China has the talent pool (engineers, scientists), industrial might (machinery & equipment, manufacturing) and the financial resources to build absolutely anything it wants.

I hope you aren't seriously drawing such judgements on the US based off comments in the Telegraph or yahoo.

I'll start with saying that there are alot of ignorant people in America, but there are also alot of ignorant people in China, I think we can agree on this.

Its this sort of unasked for and undeserved insulting of nationalities that shuts down threads... please don't do so.

Well that train has left the station because we already know the Chinese side are all labelled as fanboys meaning childishly ignorant and stupid. So it's sort of ironic that the Chinese be accused of something that is a given from the other side. Let's not forget how the mainstream media using a racist comment made by some anonymous poster in China as a declaration Chinese are racist. Remember that Chinese girl who was part African that was the sensation on a Chinese TV talent show. But the Western media chose to take some racist comments on the internet about her ignoring how she was popular with the audience to be famous on a TV show as a sign China was plagued by racism aka Chinese are more racist than Westerners. Take that logic and read comments made on Western sites and draw the same conclusion.

Go ahead and take a look at those comments, and give me a summery of which ones are constructive, which ones are just all around stupid, and how many thumbs up does the stupid comments get, and how many thumbs up does the smart comments gets.

I'm look at 1000 to 1 ratio. Let me know if you find anything different.

And yes I agree there are informed and stupid people in both nations, but I live in US and I also visit China often, and from my perspective, the ignorant/unformed people is pretty lopsided in one of those nation, I'll let you figure out which one I am talking about.

Relax friends, just focus on J-31 aircraft itself.
Some comments have been off the topic, i suggest u could create a new thread in Members' Club Room board to discuss the gap between China and U.S, informed and stupid ppl in both countries.

I see a lot of ignorant postings and a lot of butthurt. It seems like the avg American (yes sometimes I fall into that trap myself) is hellbent on criticizing China regardless of what they do.
China is innovating and slowly getting their act together. Last I check China didn't and never said anything about going to war with the US nor have they said anything in regards to their superiority. Americans are the one who are self imposing their own low self esteem and self destructive thoughts as evident by the postings here.

I think China would be the first to admit their military is no where close to challenge or even matched the US nor have they said they were wanting too. It seems like it's the Americans who are self projecting on their own negativity on themselves. As far as copying is concern, Americans should be flattered that the chinese are copying them after all isn;t that the best form of flattery? They obviously think highly of american designs and process otherwise they would copy Russia or some other countries.

China's rise in becoming a superpower is obvious. Their GDP is forcasted to surpass the US in less than a decade and be 4 times more by the end of the century. The question is will they rise peacefully or will they become enemies of the US? It seems like the US is determine to make China their enemy by making and viewing them like a pariah every step of the way. I think when everything is said and done they will be the ones getting the last laugh. I would rather have them laugh together with us as partners then at us as enemies.

Come on Jack, here you go again.

No need to make such rash and general comments that are so judgemental of American people in general.

By doing so, you are 1st, insulting Americans who certainly are not that way and driving them away from SD...and 2nd, giving a bad impression of youerself to others.

My advise would be to scale back on the attacks like this, they really add nothing to the discussion and are certainly not professional.

I'm callin it Raptor Light, obviously A2A, likely a candidate for a hook. Just because some folks don't like the J-20 being designated as high speed interceptor, doesn't mean that it isn't, it does bear a Striking Resemblance to our own old black bird in planform. Now when we see the J-20 turning itself inside out, like a Raptor or J-10, then come back and see me, or better yet, when you see it turning inside the F-60, send me the video, I'll post a very public apology on Sino D. On the other hand, we have'nt seen any high speed out of her yet either. Form Follows Function! For all you Shenyang accusers, maybe you ought to try an apology or two of your own! Smoke anyone?
