Re: Casual talk...Have fun!

Rachel Ray does 30 Minute Meals, and my roommates and I make fun of the fact that she's been gaining extra curves, the ones people don't like that much. Then there's Giada, not skinny either.

Rachel never wash her vegetables though.....

Yea, but Chinatown is so dirty.... How can you show such dirty places to tourists?

Dang, you guys got some messy relations between Big and Little Dipper....

That stroke probably messed up all of Kim's thoughts.....

Re: Casual talk...Have fun!

Recently our Govt Treasury are coming up with new ways on how to tax the people, citing other countries they are suggesting capital gain taxes on property.

I could be mistaken but in the US aren't interest on mortgages tax deductible?. 2/ arent capital gains on your home waived if you are buying a new home within avcertain amount of time.
This was told to me by a Land Agent/(one who manages the sale of property) many yrs ago so perhaps its changed.

Anyone know what it's like to live with your state government shut down? California is facing a friggin' big financial crisis and the state government hasn't been able to pass a budget/solution for a year and a half? City and Federal are still around though, but still, imagine what'd happen.... And how will we restart? Anyone know?

Nope.. They need to resolve the situation in about 11 days. I'm pretty sure the situation will be resolved before the money runs out.

If it does shut down. State services would shut down until the situation is resolved.

What's caused the problem, in California? Is it wasteful spending, state taxes are not high enough, or the slow recession in the last 2yrs has reduced the tax take?

Everything. My dad always loves at how the benefits here are way too much and turns people into leeches.
It's not really an issue of taxes, though, since we have higher taxes than other states. And we are a donor state. But California is one of the states to have gotten really hit by the housing crash last year, and even before that since so many are actually leaving the state for cheaper houses in states like Arizona.

The nail that really hit the coffin is the fact that we haven't had a budget for some 2 years and Arnold here just wouldn't sign a single bill from the House. I seriously don't know wtf we are doing..... No way I am voting for Arnold or Pelosi in the future (Not that I have ever been able to do anything in the past.)

And oh yes, did I mention that we wasted some more money by having a special election that nobody went to?

Can't wait to see California turn into Chad. The freeways are going to turn into mush. The speeders and the drug traffickers and the shooters and the State Parks... I am not sure how stuff work at the county level, but my guess is best to stay within city limits.... although city governments get a lot of cash input from the state.....

Sign something, Arnold. Waste the dam tax if you must, for 2 months, w/e...
