IF everthing works like they had planned IAF will be one of the most advanced and potent air forces in the world by 2030-2035 with Rafales and PAKFAs all over the place. That would be a very powerful hi-lo mix especially if they can get them all networked and fully integrated into their C4ISR infrastructure.

Networking has already begun since 2010.

Another major deal cleared is for the Air Force to expand the Integrated Air Command & Control System (IACCS) for Rs.7,160 crore. The IACCS presently has 5 nodes and an additional 4 nodes will be set up to connect the Indian mainland with Island regions for seamless communication and connectivity.

As part of this, new command & control nodes will be set up and integrated with the existing ground & air sensors and air defence systems.

Well, with a SOLID base in their hundreds of SU-30s, and then adding the Rafales and PAKFAs, and finally augmenting it with their own LCAs, they will indeed.

And their Navy with Mig-29Ks augmented by their own naval LCAs will be no slouch either.

India is moving as rapidly as they can to divest themselves of many hundreds of legacy 3rd generation aircraft, and understandablyt so, and they have some decent plans (despite being plagued by a few issues) to do so.

Interesting chart but the dates on the chart looks incredibly unrealistic. For example it talks of SU-50E and 2016 for India. Considering that there isn't even confirmation of a pre production prototype, aren't the dates in the chart somewhat wishful thinking? .

Well, I do not know when that chart was made...so it may simply be out of date from that perspective.

but that chart shows the SU-50 being ready for serial production to Russia in 2016, and a special export version being ready the same year for delivery to India...a one seater.

I do not believe Russia will begin serial production of the SU-50 next year, and I do not believe India is going to take an export version of the single seater at all.

It then also shows a South Korean export version in 2017. Again, I do not believe that will happen at all either.

The chart shows the first two-seat version for India coming along in the 2020 time frame. Maybe that is more realistic...at this stage we will just have to wait and see.

All in all,,,yes, I believe it is pretty much wistful thinking.

I was initially surprised that South Korea was on that chart. I googled and my take away was that Russia tried to generate some interest from the South Koreans but I don't believe it went anywhere. The fact that it actually appeared in the chart is somewhat misleading in my view regardless of the feasibility of actually meeting those dates.

I think this is an example where information on the PAK FA can be somewhat confusing at best and rather misleading at worst.

Also why is the first aircraft separated from the other prototypes and re-appears again as 051 !?
Isn't it the same aircraft or do they mean the KNS prototype with "first prototype" ??

As far as I understand the situation, we thus have the flying prototypes T-50-1, T-50-2, T-50-3, T-50-4, T-50-5 (status unconfirmed) & T-50-0, T-50-KPO as static airframes + the non-flying T-50-KNS now complemented by T-50-7 (static for config. II).

Soon to follow are the next two flying aircraft T-50-6-1 (final config. I for India) and T-50-6-2 (first config. II) for Russia.

According to the news agency, the serial supplies of the fifth-generation fighter T-50 will begin in 2016. The electronic warfare station is one of the key elements of the project. The air force got the first T-50 for testing last winter.

Moderator's note !

Please do not use bold or Italics for the biggest part of Your text, it's o.k. to mark the most important parts but not everything.
Even more please add quotes, when You quote a text + the given source, otherwise it looks to be Your text which it is not in fact and even more please take care of text alignment.

A bolt italics text posted with a center-alignment is a bit difficult to read even more since it is not a poem !
