Target destruction is guaranteed
Specialists at the Tula-based Instrument Design Bureau are considering several platforms as carriers for the advanced multipurpose anti-tank missile system. First, the Ka-52A helicopter. It can carry four launchers, each with two anti-tank guided missiles. Theoretically, this number could be doubled.
As mentioned above, the maximum engagement range of the advanced Hermes anti-tank system does not exceed 100 kilometers. Within this range, the ATGM is virtually guaranteed to destroy enemy tanks and armored vehicles, fortifications and engineering structures, and
low-speed air and surface targets. The Hermes anti-tank missile system is capable of delivering strikes from indirect and even unprepared positions in both salvo and single-shot modes.
The emerging prospects of hypersonics
The unique technical and technological solutions implemented during the development of the advanced multifunctional anti-tank missile system "Germes" have positioned them as the basis for the creation of a fundamentally new lightweight missile capable of flying at hypersonic speeds. The working title of this project is "Klevok-D2." At least that's what military experts at Izvestia newspaper stated last November after reviewing the technical documentation. This information was indirectly confirmed by sources close to the Russian military-industrial complex.
