SDF members. I came across these pictures of appears to be a targeting pod (this one is mounted on a MiG-29). Do any of you have any information, Deino perhaps? They were pictures from the MAKS air show, however there was no written information or mention of the pod.

World's Largest Sub Leaves Port for Arctic War Games

The Russian nuclear-powered strategic submarine Dmitry Donskoy, touted as the largest submersible vehicle in the world, has reportedly entered the White Sea, where it is due to take part in anti-submarine drills.

Taking part in the drills are, among other vehicles, the anti-submarine ships Onega and Naryan-Mar.

The vessel, named after the Grand Duke of Moscow Dmitry Donskoy, measures 172 meters in length and has a crew of 160, making it the world's largest submarine.

In 2002, the twenty launchers for the R-39 ballistic missiles the submarine originally carried were replaced with launchers for the most advanced submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) to date, the RSM-56 Bulava. The past few years have seen a spate of successful Bulava launches from the Dmitry Donskoy.
Interesting. It is the oldest of the six planned (and five built) Typhoons...and it also the last remaining in service. Three were scrapped, one was never finished, and two are decommissioned nd laid up.

I know they made modifications to test the Bulava missiles for the Borei class, but I am pretty sure that that was just to one of its 20 tubes.

It would be news to me that all 20 tubes are Bulava capable.

Forbin? NavyRecon?

Interesting question . Some of Russian sources talk in plural ( "tubes" , "launchers" ) , some (older) talk about one tube modified for launch. Russian Wikipedia clearly states 20 Bulavas on Dimitry Donskoy .

Huge Russian military planes land in Syria

Washington (AFP) - At least three Russian military transport planes have landed in Syria in recent days, US officials said Tuesday, as Washington worries about the sort of assistance Moscow is providing to Damascus.

The aircraft have landed at the airport in Latakia on Syria's Mediterranean coast over the past several days, US officials told AFP on condition of anonymity.

Two of the aircraft were giant Antonov-124 Condor planes and a third was a passenger flight, one of the officials said.

The Russians have installed modular housing units -- enough for "hundreds" of people -- at the airport, as well as portable air traffic control equipment, the official noted.

"All of this seems to be suggesting that Russia is planning to do some sort of forward air-operating hub out of this airfield," the official said.

Washington has expressed concern following reports suggesting Moscow may be boosting military support to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and had sent a military advance team to the war-torn country.

"Our concern would be that any effort to bolster the Assad regime right now would potentially be destabilizing," Pentagon press secretary Peter Cook said Tuesday.

Syria has denied reports of increased military activity by Russian troops on its soil.

US Secretary of State John Kerry called his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov over the weekend to warn of the dangers of stoking a conflict which has already cost nearly 250,000 lives.

Russia rejects the charge, insisting that any deliveries are in keeping with its traditional links to long-time ally Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Bulgaria has refused permission for Russian aircraft to enter its airspace, and Greece said Tuesday that Washington had asked it to also deny Russian overflights.

(concerns Project 11356)
...

I believe they have ordered six of them, right? ...

good question; I think the answer is yes, but ...:
ships #4, 5, 6 are referred to as something like "Admirals Triple" (due to their names - wiki gives them) and the most recent news about it are:
  1. only in August the work was resumed;
  2. the shipyard has recently reminded everybody
