The Russian Ministry of Defense demonstrated the Su-34 frontline fighter-bomber with the FAB-1500-M54 bomb and its release for the first time. The FAB-1500 is equipped with a UMPK module. The FAB-1500 high-explosive aerial bomb was adopted in 1954 and is designed to destroy fortified enemy targets. Today, the bomb with the UMPK module is a cheap and effective weapon for Russian aviation; a video of its use is available on the channel. The FAB-1500-M54 aerial bomb weighs 1,550 kg, and its TNT warhead weighs 675-725 kg. Upon impact, the bomb's fragmentation and shockwave have a damage radius of up to 500 meters. The bomb is capable of destroying bunkers at a depth of up to 20 meters and penetrating up to three meters of reinforced concrete. The bomb is 2,765 mm long and 630 mm in diameter. When dropped from an altitude of 12 km and equipped with a pulse-jet engine, the FAB-1500 bomb has a range of up to 150 km. The bomb is launched from Su-34M fighter-bombers and Su-35S multirole fighters.

Russia has begun testing an aircraft-type UAV controlled via fiber optic cable. The Russian Alpha Experimental Design Bureau (OKB) developed the fiber-optic UAV. According to the developers, the UAV could become an improved version of the Molniya drone. Currently, the Russian and other militaries do not have aircraft-type UAVs operating via fiber optic cable; they currently use only FPV drones. The developers have managed to maintain the payload capacity of this size UAV, which reaches 8 kg. These UAVs currently have a range of up to 50 km. Three drones are currently being developed, two of which are already being tested. UAVs have the advantage over FPV drones of having a longer range, longer flight time, and a higher payload capacity.

This MIG RD-33 engines shifted from Moscow to UEC-UMPO at UFA. I am surprised they were expecting orders until 2025 at rate of over 100 per year of this class of engine.
UEC UMPO is now largest engine builder in Russia. They can make several thousand engines per year. Russia is the largest fighter engine builder in the world.

to reorganize the Moscow enterprise was made at general meetings of shareholders of the two companies.
According to the UEC website, JSC Chernyshev Machine Building Plant (MMP), is engaged in the production and after-sales service of gas turbine aircraft engines. The plant includes foundry, heat-treatment, welding, galvanizing, forging and pressing, machining, mechanical assembly, and testing facilities. The plant's main products are the RD-33, RD-33MK, and RD-93 aircraft engines, VK-2500 and VK-650V helicopter engine modules, and other products. From 2012 to 2020, UEC-UMPO was the managing organization of MMP Chernyshev, and since 2020, UEC has managed both organizations.
UEC-UMPO is one of the country's leading manufacturers of gas turbine aircraft engines. The Ufa-based enterprise produces and services engines for aircraft, helicopters, and the gas industry. In addition to MMP named after Chernyshev, it includes the Moscow-based Lyulka Experimental Design Bureau, the Lytkarino Machine-Building Plant (as branches), and the Ufa-based Experimental Design Bureau "Motor."

UMPO plans to master the production of engines for MiGs by 2018

The Ufa Engine Production Association (UMPO, part of the United Engine Corporation (UEC)) plans to launch a backup production facility for the RD-33 family of aircraft engines for the MiG family of aircraft in 2018. According to the plant's managing director, Evgeny Semivelichenko, the company has developed and approved a program for establishing such a facility in Ufa, and "preparations are currently in full swing." RD-33 engines are currently manufactured at the Chernyshev Moscow Machine-Building Enterprise, also part of UEC. "We have been given a deadline of December 31, 2017, when UMPO is expected to fully ramp up serial production of these engines," the managing director said. "These engines will come in four modifications. In terms of commercial output, that's approximately 100-150 engines per year until 2025; this is the additional volume we are counting on."
UMPO is the largest aircraft engine manufacturer in Russia and is part of the United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of Rostec). Its core activities include the development, production, maintenance, and repair of turbojet aircraft engines and gas compressor units, as well as the production and repair of helicopter components.

✅UAC has handed over the multifunctional Su-30SM2 fighters and Su-34 fighter-bombers to the Russian Ministry of Defense

The machines have undergone the entire cycle of necessary ground and flight factory tests and have been sent to their operational locations.

“As part of the implementation of the target tasks set by the Russian Defense Minister for the supply of weapons and military equipment, the crew carried out the acceptance of the Su-30SM2 aircraft. The supermaneuverable multifunctional Su-30SM2 aircraft are one of the most modern combat aircraft of the Russian Armed Forces. I would like to thank the plant's team for their dedicated work in creating aviation equipment,” noted a Su-30SM2 pilot.

The Su-30SM2 fighters represent a further development of the aircraft in service with the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Russian Navy's aviation. The Su-34 fighter-bomber is designed to strike ground (surface) and air targets, infrastructure objects, protected by air defense systems and located at significant distances from the base airfield. The aircraft can also be used for aerial reconnaissance tasks.

“As part of the implementation of the target tasks set by the Russian Defense Minister for the supply of weapons and military equipment to the troops, the Russian Aerospace Forces' crews have carried out the acceptance of the Su-34 aircraft. The Su-34 aircraft has proven itself in the zone of the special military operation in the best possible way. A wonderful aviation complex with a great potential for the future, it has a wide range of weaponry and the ability to use advanced weapons to achieve the set tasks,” noted a Su-34 pilot of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

The Su-30SM2 has high flight-technical characteristics and outstanding maneuverability. A deep modernization has significantly expanded the aircraft's capabilities. A powerful radar allows the fighter to "see" significantly further compared to the previous version and accurately hit a wide range of ground, air, and sea targets without entering the zone of the enemy's air defense. In turn, the multifunctional Su-34 fighter-bomber has long since confirmed its status as the best in its class and confidently maintains this position.

“UAC's production sites are rhythmically and on schedule producing and delivering equipment as part of the State Defense Order. Simultaneously with the delivery of equipment, we are working on further improving our aircraft, including taking into account the experience gained during the special military operation,” said UAC General Director Vadim Badeha.
