18/03/2015
IN THE CAPITAL MAY BE re-launch production of strategic bombers Tu-160

As the "BUSINESS Online», «Tupolev» and Kazan aircraft plant instructed to count to restore production of the Tu-160 - part of the Russian nuclear triad. According to experts, in the present circumstances such a restart will cost tens if not hundreds of billions of rubles and amounts feat. But there is no escape: for effective alerting the country needs at least another 15 "strategists", the cost of which is estimated at 15 - 20 billion. Rubles per aircraft.

The possibility of resuming production at the Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ) missile Tu-160 (NATO - Blackjack) in the aircraft industry began to talk about a month ago. Material gone unnoticed, and it looks like it is for this and put it on the evening of the day, providing a neutral name. But I think to hide it "message" reached "the right people". "In Kazan, considering begin to produce new Tu-160," - said the journalist casual tone sensational news. "Today, the issue is studied, - says the director for the production of Andrew KAZa Liadov. - There are difficulties, of course, but the main part of the process can be found here, at the factory, and, in principle, the possibility to renew it is. "

"Business Online» Kazuya offered to tell you more about the prospects for the Tu-160, but at the time the material is no response received. But something told our sources in the aircraft industry. "Judging by the appearance of movement, the option to restart production of the Tu-160 is studied intensively," - said one. "I think as far as the study of a question, - said another. - Assess the state of the technical documentation, stocks, equipment, say how realistic the resumption of production, and, if so, in what time frame. But the mood is very serious.

The second helicopter carrier for Russia completes first sea trials

bpc%20vladivostok-11d.jpg

(Defensa.com) The Sevastopol, the second helicopter carriers for the Russian Navy ship being built by French shipyard DCNS ended last Friday the first sea trials in the presence of company personnel DCNS, prime contractor, and STX, subcontractor. They boarded the ship around 200 people who could perform three shifts of eight hours continuously.

These tests take place in mid-April as the ship was scheduled to be delivered to Russia during the last quarter of this year. However at present it is unknown whether or not ultimately receive Russian ships, as the French government decided to halt delivery due to conflict in Ukraine. France and Russia agreed in 2011 to build two helicopter carrier derived from the French Mistral class adapted to the requirements of the Russian Navy, leaving the door open for the construction of two other ships under license in Russia. The amount of this agreement stood at 1,370 million euros. The first of the ships, the Vladivostok, should have been delivered on November 14 last year.

A breach of contract of Mistral class helicopter carrier could result in significant losses to France, plus the return of 890 million euros already paid by Moscow and fined for exceeding the set date of delivery, which increases every week (although be limited to 5% of the total contract value) plus the amount that would require Moscow for the damages incurred, including costs associated with the delivery of Russian shipyards in Saint-Nazaire sailors. The French newspaper L'Opinion 'recently stated that the current situation will cost Paris also 5 million euros per month only with regard to the maintenance and protection of ships, which would remain in France.

The range of possible sanctions would extend further. On March 3, Russian Communications Minister Nikolai Nikiforov, suggested impose trade sanctions on French entities for refusing to give Russia the Mistral class helicopter carrier. In this regard, I would have suggested the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who oversees policies related to national defense, directing a "policy statement" to the company's communication RSCC national satellite in order to break relations with the satellite European provider Eutelsat SA, based in Paris. The total value of contracts signed between RSCC and Eutelsat amounted to 658.9 million euros.

Nikiforov have suggested in a letter that "For planning or policy under repeated indication of the FAS (Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia) suggest changing the results of the contest GPKS (Federal State Unitary Enterprise) in the design and manufacture communication satellite Express-AMU2 [in relation to the contest in 2014 where he earned the victory EADS Astrium] and RSCC suspend lease agreements satellite capacity with Eutelsat SA French operator ".

I guess we would have to wait for Victory Day parade for actual shape and size of Armata tank . But I guess it would be lighter and smaller then Abrams in accordance to Russian doctrine . Nevertheless , armour levels should be significantly increased, especially if they reduce crew to just two man (unmanned turret) .

Agreed. This is all speculation. The bright side to all this is that if is produce in the typical Russian mass quantity then the Russians may have a fire sale on their stocks of T-72 and T-80s.
