They said as much on TASS. But it makes little sense really. It is not like Russia is swimming in large hulls to replace it. It would also have been way simpler to upgrade the Peter the Great than it has been to upgrade the Nakhimov. One of the things they did with the Nakhimov upgrade was that they digitized the entire ship's blueprints and updated it into a CAD model. And the Peter the Great has been way more well maintained, so there would be less things which needed replacement in the first place. So the task could be done in less time with less hassle in the Peter the Great than it was in the Nakhimov.

If they do not want to spend the money on the upgrade, then just defuel it and keep it in storage.

The Russian FPV drone "Gadfly" is shown. Drone production is growing in Russia, footage of the launch of the Russian FPV drone Gadfly has been published. There is almost no information about the drone, according to the developers, the drone has a good camera, high speed and noise-free communication. The drone is equipped with a contactor, which is necessary for installing and equipping ammunition. The element base of the drone is most likely foreign, according to the developers, it was carefully selected. The cost of the Gadfly drone is about 40,000 rubles, or $480.

A new batch of Su-35S aircraft has been handed over to the Russian Air Force. A new batch of Su-35S fighter aircraft has been handed over to the Russian Ministry of Defense by the Yuri Gagarin Aviation Plant. The planes have already arrived at the base airfield. Before that, they were accepted by technical services and passed factory tests, having been tested in the air in various modes. The Su-35 is a 4++ generation multirole supermaneuverable fighter designed to destroy air, ground and surface targets and infrastructure facilities. The Su-35S is capable of delivering eight 500 kg KAB-500Kr and KAB 500OD television-guided bombs to the front line. On the AL-41F1S engine of the Su-35S aircraft, for the first time, a plasma ignition system was used with the possibility of oxygen-free launch at high altitudes.

Russian super armored T-72 tank spotted. Footage of a Russian T-72 tank with additional armor made by non-factory specialists has been published. Judging by the footage, at the moment this is the most armored Russian tank in a makeshift way. The tank is somewhat similar to the Russian experimental tank T-90 "Burlak", the shape of the tower repeats its outlines. The tank is also protected from above, a canopy against drones is visible on the car. Why and by whom the tank was made is not reported

Russian national broadcaster news segment showing the ZALA Aero factory which makes the Lancet.

They built the factory inside a Russian shopping mall which used to be owned by IKEA. They needed more floor space to increase production. The place was available for cheap since IKEA left Russia as a form of boycott.

They are currently working on the next generation version of the Lancet which can act as part of a swarm of drones and automatically direct members of the pack to individual targets. The next generation is meant to be transported in a compact launch tube which no longer requires the use of the launch rail like the current Lancet and can be launched in volleys.

Uh, I guess the video got deleted due to copyright strike, which is interesting to say the least since Russia-1 channel is banned on Youtube. Anyway this video has some of the footage.

Old artillery such as D-20 and D-30 are a lot more deadlier with drone assistance, enhancing their worth in the battlefield. This also applies to Hyacinths, Tyulpans, Pions, Malkas, Akasyas and Gvozdikas. On top of that, laser guided ammunition like Krasnopols and Kitolovs give these old weapons a modern one shot capability.

To be fair, Ukraine has fielded their own Krasnopol cousins, the Kvitnyk for 152mm and the Karasuk for 122mm but we seldom hear about these since the media prefers to credit kills to Excaliburs and HIMARS even if the Ukrainian shells did the actual kills.

New robot tanks. Anyway this video has stock footage of a modernized BMP-1 with 30mm 2A42 gun. What's with the 30mm these days? They are proving to be a hot gun in the battlefield.
