One of the better porn vids for the BMPT Terminator that I have seen. The 30mm is the new infantry support weapon. I have seen a video where Wagner used a 30mm to cheese hole then crumble a concrete high rise in Bakhmut filled with Ukrainian snipers. No wonder the 30mm is a core part in BMP and BTR modernization efforts.

The BMPT Terminator has weapons good enough to face infantry at arm's length. The infantry might be using 14mm machine guns, and use some ATGMs with 5km range. While the BMPT Terminator has the 30mm autocannon with much more range than the 14mm machine gun, and vehicle mounted ATGMs with like 8km range. So it can effectively engage infantry outside their range of attack at all times if used properly. In case you need to go closer to the enemy infantry positions for whatever reason it has the same armor as the T-72 and grenade launchers. Against enemy armored vehicles, it has a really low silhouette, which makes it particularly hard to hit. I think the only issues it might have is lack of visibility and limited mobility. Not to mention expense of acquisition.

What does a 30mm do, that a 25mm or a 20mm doesn't? Just curious. Is there any particular reason why the 30mm autocannon is chosen?

Might be able to pen other IFVs especially if the longer barreled 2A72 is used.

More explosive content, more room for "smart fuze" and Russian 30mm ammo is standardized already. The ammo used for 2A42 is common for other 30mm like Pantsyr, BMP-2 and even aircrafts like Su-25, Su-27, MiG-29 and Su-30's.

While the round is the same size and length, the ones used on the 2A42 and 2A72 is different from the ones used on the Gsh-30 and Gsh-306. They are more powerful still, even if the ones on the Gsh-30 and -306 can already pen lightly armored vehicles. The ones used on the 2A42 and 2A72 are the same ones used on the Ka-52 and Mi-28. 2A72 is longer barrel than the 2A42, with significantly fewer parts and less weight, making it ideal to upgrade on older vehicles, use on more compact turrets, and for airborne use.

Apparently the Il-112V will be redesigned and reengined with PD-8 turbofans

Interesting choice. Historically, aircraft designed for turboprops have never given fantastic results when reengined with jet engines. It results in aircraft with wings optimised for slower cruise speeds, with engines optimised for higher speeds. It will also lose the blown-wing effect from the propellers mounted in front of the wing.
