We tell in detail about the development and testing of the new electric architecture of the Atom electric car: what it consists of, what are its features, and why the system of our own development has a number of advantages over ready-made solutions. The architecture is already being tested - not only in special laboratories, but also on prototype cars.

It should be noted that all the functionality of an electric car is distributed across domains: body, chassis, power plant, driver assistance systems, multimedia, etc.

The point is that

uses a decentralized architecture of the low-voltage system. That is, the functionality is distributed between several electronic modules - instead of a domain or central controller. They say that this approach provides a number of advantages over centralized solutions, namely: increased reliability, scalability due to solutions available on the market, plus there are no dependencies on one electronic unit, and there is the ability to distribute functionality and load development teams.

In addition, the low-voltage architecture of the Atom makes it possible, if necessary, to implement local "awakening" of individual electronic units without starting the entire system. This, in turn, allows for the optimization of energy consumption, which directly affects the increase in the power reserve.

It's pretty funny how the Russian EV goes in the complete opposite direction of the current technological trend, simply due to the need to adapt to the local climate.

my point was how fast and low cost to develop EV industry in Russia when fundamental technologies are developed by Rosatom. Germany closed nuclear plants and want to compete in EV. they are were not competitor before just benefit of US dollar system.

Russian analogue of Starlink will test communications in the Arctic

Due to difficult terrain and weather conditions, satellite communications from low orbit must be more effective than terrestrial ones.
The first three low-orbit satellites of the Rassvet-1 mission were launched into near-Earth orbit in June 2023, Vedomosti reported. In May 2024, Bureau 1440 reported the launch of three more satellites. By the end of 2030, the Bureau 1440 constellation should consist of 292 satellites, and a total of 383 satellites are to be launched (including 91 satellites to replace those that fail). The launch of the low-orbit satellite constellation is included in one of the nine federal projects that make up the Data Economy national project, the Internet Access Infrastructure federal project. Bureau 1440 plans to launch satellites into orbit between 2025 and 2027 and launch a commercial service in 2027, Bureau 1440 representatives clarified to ComNews. The project's goal is to increase the proportion of households with access to high-speed broadband internet to 97% by 2030.

From what I understand there are going to be three flying prototypes. One Superjet with partially import substituted systems but original imported SaM-146 engines, one Superjet with the original imported systems but Russian PD-8 engines (this one), and the last to be produced is supposed to be fully import substituted both systems and engines.

Russian-built Superjet 100 with PD-8 Engines Completes Maiden Flight
17.03.2025

In Komsomolsk-on-Amur, the SJ-100 aircraft, registration number 97012, powered by PD-8 engines, has successfully completed its maiden flight. This marks the commencement of the manufacturer’s development and proving trials under the power unit import substitution programme for the aircraft.

The flight crew, consisting of test pilots Dmitry Demenev, Igor Grevtsev, and flight test engineer Maxim Gryukanov, spent approximately 40 minutes airborne. The aircraft reached a speed of 500 km/h and an altitude of 3,000 metres. Upon landing, the Captain confirmed that the flight test schedule had been completed in full and that the PD-8 engines had demonstrated stable performance.

To expedite certification trials, a third Superjet, fully incorporating import substitutions, is planned to be brought into the testing regime. This prototype aircraft is scheduled to join the flight test programme in April. Certification of the PD-8 engine is anticipated this autumn.

The Superjet’s import substitution programme involves replacing approximately 40 imported systems and units, including the engine, avionics, undercarriage, and other key components. The aircraft also features a new domestically-produced fuselage.

Two further prototype engines are scheduled for delivery before the end of March for flight testing. UEC (United Engine Corporation) General Director Alexander Grachev noted that the PD-8 engine had demonstrated excellent results and fully validated its technical specifications.

First fight of the russified SJ-100 with PD-8 engines. Certification will obviously take some time to complete.

Good initiative. Any chance they can one day challenge Airbus, Boeing, or even Embraer and COMAC in future ?
What chance does it have to win market share abroad? Or its just for internal consumption,?

Challenging abroad is very hard even more for the production chains.

COMAC will need to build up it's industrial capacity very hard to be able to fulfill China need in the future. We talk about multiple thousands of planes

Russia have a lower target in numbers but the step will be very hard too. They don't produce a lot of plane per year at all presently. Challenging abroad is more a pipe dream for them. If they fulfill their need, it's a big win anyway.

Tupolev spoke about the operation of the Tu-214 aircraft by Red Wings Airlines
The longer the airliner is in the air, the lower its operating costs are, and the use of the aircraft becomes profitable for airlines. The Tu-214 makes medium-range flights to Georgia, Israel, Armenia and Turkey, as well as to cities in Russia. According to the managing director of JSC Tupolev, Konstantin Timofeev, in July of this year the aircraft flew more than 300 hours, which proves its efficiency and ease of maintenance.
The comfortable cabin of the airliner also plays a major role in attracting passengers. "With the standard of 750 mm, the distance between the seats in the main part of the cabin is 780 mm, and in the tail - 810 mm,"

In 2024, Red Wings expects to receive a Tu-204 that has been modernized and will return to service after a long period of storage. In addition, the company has already received one passenger Tu-204 and a modernized Il-96-400T in cargo version, which allows it to occupy its niche in cargo transportation in the Russian market.

for the development of the aviation industry until 2030 predicts a gradual increase in the production of Tu-214 aircraft: four in 2025, seven in 2026, 17 aircraft in 2027, and from 2028, reaching a production rate of at least 28 aircraft annually. In total, by December 31, 2030, the Kazan Aviation Plant must manufacture and deliver 115 Tu-214 aircraft to airlines.

They want to increase further once the flight restrictions are lifted on many airports. as this not convenient. I am sure they want to go Crimea.

Russia's first 350nm lithography machine to be produced in Moscow

On March 25, according to the Russian Satellite News Agency, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin recently posted on his "Telegram" channel account that Moscow's "Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center" company has completed the research and development of Russia's first 350nm lithography machine, which is a key equipment for the production of microchips.

After the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the United States and the West imposed more stringent export control measures on Russia, among which semiconductor equipment such as semiconductor chips and lithography machines became the focus of restrictions. This also forced Russia to begin developing domestically designed lithography machines.

In 2023, Vasily Shpak, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, said in an interview with the media that Russia will start producing 350nm lithography machines in 2024 and complete lithography machines for producing 130nm process chips in 2026. The production of lithography machines will be carried out in existing factories in Moscow, Zelenograd, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk.

1742918625766.png

Then in May 2024, Russia's TASS reported that during the CIPR 2024 conference, Vasily Shpak announced that Russia's first domestically produced lithography machine had been assembled and was being tested in Zelenograd, and the equipment could ensure the production of 350nm chips. However, Vasily Shpak did not disclose more details about the lithography machine at the time.

The latest revelations from Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin recently showed that Moscow's "Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center" has completed the research and development of Russia's first 350nm lithography machine, and exposed some related photos.

"There are less than 10 countries in the world capable of manufacturing this key microchip production equipment, and now Russia is among them. We have taken the most important step towards the transition to independent production of microelectronics and complete national technological independence." Sobyanin also pointed out that this Russian equipment is very different from similar foreign equipment. This Russian equipment is the first to use solid-state lasers as radiation devices instead of mercury lamps. Solid-state lasers have high power, high energy efficiency, strong durability, and a narrower spectrum.

As we all know, lithography machines are extremely important for the production of semiconductors. Currently, only four companies in the world can produce lithography machines: ASML in the Netherlands, Nikon and Canon in Japan, and Shanghai Microelectronics in China. However, only ASML, Nikon and Canon can supply lithography machines that can produce advanced processes. Although 350nm is a very mature process, it can still meet the chip needs of some automotive, energy and communications industries.

Anatoly Kovalev, general manager of the Moscow-based Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center, said: “Our company has completed the development of Russia’s first 350nm topology projection lithography machine under a state contract. The project was implemented in cooperation with the Belarusian Planar plant. After successful testing in December 2024, the lithography machine was approved by the state committee and all declared technical characteristics were recorded. A customer has already purchased the equipment, and the process flow of the equipment is now being adjusted to the special production requirements of the end user.”

It is reported that the working area of the 350nm lithography machine has been significantly increased to 22mm × 22mm, and can process wafers with a maximum diameter of 200mm.

According to the Moscow Investment and Industrial Policy Bureau, the Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center is ready to mass-produce this 350nm lithography machine. In addition, the Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center is currently continuing the research and development of a 130nm lithography machine under a second state contract, which is expected to be completed in 2026.

According to a previously exposed plan, Russia will allocate 211.4 billion rubles (about 16.616 billion yuan) in 2024 for the development of domestic electronic products, which will include lithography machines that can produce 350nm process chips, and will start producing 130nm process chips in 2026.
