How can real wages in Russia rise so much if Putin currently relies on the government to "print money" on the "military spending" to keep it stable and grow the economy in their opinion?

Considering Russia's total labor force is approximately 75 million people, the combined total of active military personnel (1.5 million) and defense industry workers (3.8 million) is about 5.3 million individuals.

This means that approximately 7% of Russia's total workforce is directly employed in military and defense-related sectors.

To increase the average real wages of the entire country by 8.4% ALONE, the wages of the 7% workforce (military and defense-related sectors) would need to increase by approximately 120% (or 2.2 times their current level).

Which clearly did not happen, meaning the civil economy sectors had to contribute mostly.

This meant further that the businesses in the civil sector could offer higher wages now and needed to compete with one another due to the rise of economic activity in the civil sector predominantly, and not the defense sector!!!






Edit: Additionally, if the economy was led by government money printing and spending on the military, there is no way that you would have seen any positive real growth since there would be a shortage of common civil goods. The only way to fight inflation is to build enough supply of common civil goods in the economy which is what has been happening. So this war and sanctions actually, like I was saying the entire time, kickstarted the renaissance and turbo-charing of the Russian economy. Or else you would have seen 1000 times more protests and discontent. This is what happens when oligarchs and businesses now can't take money out for example and have to invest everything inside, when all of the businesses are forced to innovate and contribute to the real economy, and when every local politician must be kept in check from corruption.

Baikal Electronics has received a declaration of conformity with the EAEU to sell its Baikal-S server chips in Russia. The first batch, following the sanctions and Taiwanese TSMC's refusal to produce them, was delivered to Russia at the end of 2024. The next batch is expected at the end of 2025.

As CNews has found out, the Russian processor developer Baikal Electronics has received a declaration of conformity with the requirements of the technical regulations of the EAEU for the serial production of Baikal-S. The declaration registration date is January 15, 2025, as follows from the unified register of certificates of conformity and declarations.

A declaration of conformity is required to bring goods to the market and sell them. In November 2024, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vasily Shpak reported that a batch of 1,000 Baikal-S processors had arrived in Russia.

Experts then suggested that the market could begin testing new processors and gradually integrate them into their solutions.

CNews' sources among server manufacturers say that almost all the processors went to a large company with state participation . "They kept most of them for themselves and distributed several hundred among state projects and sold them to other manufacturers," he noted.

Processor specifications​

The Baikal-S server ARM processor has been in development since October 2016, when Baikal Electronics signed an agreement with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to provide the company with a subsidy of 1.2 billion rubles following a thematic competition. The total cost of the project was set at 2.49 billion rubles, meaning that the developer himself was to invest 1.29 billion rubles in it. The project's completion date was initially set at November 30, 2019.

The processor was designed using a 16-nanometer process technology, has 48 ARM Cortex-A75 cores , six channels of DDR4 3200 MHz memory - up to 768 GB per socket (128 GB per channel), cache memory : L1 - 64 KB instruction cache and data cache, L2 - 512 KB per core, L3 - 2 MB per cluster, L4: 32 MB.

The processor clock speed is up to 2.2 GHz, power consumption is 120 W, the operating temperature range is from 0 to 70 degrees Celsius, and performance on the standard supercomputer test Linpack is declared at 358 Gflops .​
