And it's a self-own:Obviously bring blown out of proportion. But Russia is imposing a 55.65% tariffs on Chinese furniture parts.
AMDPR president Alexander Shestakov said importing a finished piece of furniture, which is only subject to a 9-12% tariff, is now more profitable than producing it domestically. He said the targeted components are currently not produced in Russia, which imports about US$1.3 billion of these furniture parts annually, mainly from China.

Individual Housing Construction Market 2024. Results: Dynamics, Problems, Prospects
In the Southern Federal District, which includes the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol, the median cost of an individual housing construction property is 7.4 million rubles, the median loan size is 5.3 million rubles, the median down payment is 2 million rubles, and the median monthly payment is 36.8 million rubles.
In just nine months, 135 thousand wooden individual housing construction objects with a total area of 15.5 million square meters were built in the country. Brick is also popular among Russians when building private houses. According to Rosreestr, 77 thousand houses, or about 20% of all individual housing construction, were built from this material from January to September. The total footage of such buildings was 12.3 million square meters.
In addition, in 2024, Russians built 52.4 thousand block houses (13.5%) with an area of 7.4 million square meters and 17.1 thousand stone houses with a total footage of 2.6 million square meters (about 4.2%). The rarest technology in the individual housing construction segment is panel housing construction, its share is less than 1%, or 4.5 thousand buildings on 559 thousand square meters.
Russian specialists advance in EUV lithography
December 2, 2024, ,
Scientists from the Russian University of Power Engineering (MPEI) have announced the creation of a new radiation source designed for use in EUV lithography equipment. Compared to existing domestic solutions, it features increased efficiency due to the addition of lithium to the helium plasma charge.
While the source currently exists as an experimental prototype, large-scale studies have proven that supplementing the helium plasma discharge with lithium will make it possible to create stationary sources in demand in EUV lithography.
In the future, the source developed at MPEI will ensure mass production of chips and single-crystal systems using more sophisticated technological processes, which will significantly reduce their size, as well as increase performance and improve energy efficiency.
At present, a prototype of a promising development has been created and work is underway to create advanced Russian lithographs based on this radiation source.
North-South Project is well known. there is another project coming that will tear the mountains along Black Sea. and that can eventually connect the Muslim cities of Caucuses. These are all around access to the Sea.EUV photolithography is largely a Russian invention. What are our practical prospects?
By 2000, ASML had hit an obstacle it could not overcome: EUV
lithography required powerful short-wave radiation with a wavelength of 13.5 nm. The radiation sources that existed at that time had too little power. And then the Dutch remembered the Soviet (at that time already Russian) leader in the field of laser technologies, the Institute of Spectroscopy (ISAN) of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Troitsk near Moscow (now a district of Moscow). However, the Dutch never forgot about our capabilities in this area, since by that time many of our scientists, in search of a better life, had left for the West and worked there in the best research centers, including ASML.
The result was not long in coming: working under a contract with a Dutch company, our scientists found a way to increase the power of the generated radiation many times over, offering tin vapor instead of the xenon used by the Dutch. In 2003, a prototype of an EUV radiation source based on an electric discharge in tin vapor was created at ISAN. The Dutch thanked us, paid for the cost of the work, and then they themselves were engaged in the industrial development of the radiation source.
Short-wave radiation must then be transmitted and focused. For this, optical systems based on multilayer mirrors are used. The Dutch could not do without our scientists in this case either. The leading scientific institution in this field at that time was the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Physics of Microstructures (IPM) of the Russian Academy of Sciences. ASML ordered our developers to develop a technology for manufacturing multilayer mirrors, which the Nizhny Novgorod scientists coped with brilliantly.
Today, ASML's leadership is based primarily on the coordination of work by a wide range of developers and manufacturers. Primarily German ones. In the field of laser technology, it is Trumpf. In the field of optics, it is Carl Zeiss. The scientific leader in these technologies is the Fraunhofer Institute. But the fact is that we have plenty of such enterprises and institutes in Russia. Both traditions and scientific developments have been preserved. The Institute of Physics and Technology, the National Research University of Electronic Technology "MIET", the Kurchatov Institute, the Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center, the Research Institute of Molecular Electronics (NIIME), NPP "ESTO": the list of enterprises involved in the creation of complex domestic microelectronics is long. And of course, the heroes of this article, ISAN and IFM, are also involved in these developments. Everything should work out.

Putin called the high-speed highway to Makhachkala and Grozny a good idea
Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to think about extending the Moscow-Adler high-speed highway to Makhachkala and Grozny. He said this during a direct line, answering a question from a journalist from Chechnya.
Putin noted that it is first necessary to "expand" the bottlenecks on the way to Adler and the Black Sea, where people spend hours stuck in traffic jams. Once this task is solved, the next stage could be
"As for Grozny and Makhachkala, that's also right, we need to think about it, but at the next stage. The idea itself is good," Putin said.
Earlier, RBC that Russian Railways had decided on the order of construction of high-speed highways. The first high-speed railway will appear in the Moscow-Saint Petersburg direction, then Moscow-Yekaterinburg, Moscow-Adler, Moscow-Minsk and Moscow-Ryazan will be built.

Putin stressed the importance of supporting early motherhood in Russia
"You can give birth at 18": the State Duma urged Russian women to do it the old-fashioned way
The economy was receiving “far more money than it can ‘digest’”, the CBR acknowledged in its latest report from early December.
The CBR’s interest rate rises from 16 per cent in July have drawn several prominent critics out into the open in recent months,
The guy who developed the tin droplet chamber used in Cymer's EUV light source, the hardest part in it, had a degree from Moscow University. Try searching for 'Georgiy Vaschenko'.some historic context. that Cymer also had Russian Phd as principal at time.
Some people think this is some kind of disaster. That economic development of the Russian Federation will stop due to high interest rates. What is happening is that 21% interest rate is what you get if you ask for a credit card loan, or a car loan. Housing loans were until recently done at a much lower subsidized rate and whoever has a housing loan is locked in at the older loan rate. Industrial loans are subsidized by the state and often at a 5% interest rate.Inflation at 9.5%, interest rate at 21%. Unemployment at 2.3%

Sochi Enters Top Popular Destinations Among Omanis
Sochi has become one of the most popular destinations for tourists from Oman, Izvestia reports, citing the Russian Embassy.
In 2024, Oman was among the new destinations for Russian tourists, and it is expected that the flow of travelers from Russia to the Sultanate may grow by 25% compared to last year, reaching 70 thousand people. Acting Press Attaché of the Russian Embassy Alexander Osadchiy noted that 53 thousand Russians visited Oman in 2023, and this number continues to grow thanks to active cooperation in the field of culture and tourism.
The orbital group in Russia will be smaller than that of , and other technological solutions will be used. This statement was made on December 24 by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov during the open dialogue “100 questions about the future of Russia” at the National Center “Russia”.
“In terms of the number of satellites, we are planning to go intensively rather than extensively <…> The grouping will be significantly smaller than that of our colleagues from the US, but at the same time, in terms of functionality, it will perform the same tasks,” he noted.
Manturov specified that the Russian side is considering the use of several other technological solutions that provide the same results in covering both Russian and foreign territory for communications.

December 20, 2024, – A new method of transporting blood plasma using has proven its safety and effectiveness. Researchers from the Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems of University and the Pacific State Medical University took part in the experiment. This was reported by with reference to the press service of Innopolis University.
"The tested method will allow transporting blood plasma over a distance of up to 250 km, preserving the quality of biomaterials and making faster diagnoses for patients during research. The solution will also make complex blood tests more accessible in remote regions of the country," the press service reported.
It is noted that the new method also allows for a thrombodynamics test to diagnose disorders of the plasma hemostasis system and identify risks of bleeding and thrombus formation.
s drones with a vertical takeoff and landing system to transport blood plasma . It is noted that its design allows minimizing overloads and vibration. The press service reported that the first tests were conducted on Sakhalin, and the final ones in Innopolis.
"For the experiment, blood plasma samples sufficient for the thrombodynamics test were taken from 30 volunteers of different sexes and ages. For a week, the samples were transported using InnoVtol-3s at various altitudes, speeds and in difficult weather conditions. Each sample was analyzed three times: immediately after blood was taken from the volunteers, after storage in ideal conditions without the impact of transportation and at the end of the drone flight. <...> Experts found a deviation of the studied parameters of no more than 4% from the reference result, which confirms the quality of the delivered blood plasma necessary for thrombodynamics," the report says.
Director of the Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems at Innopolis University , emphasized that the high sensitivity of the thrombodynamics method makes the preservation of plasma critically important, since violations during its transportation can distort the results. "Therefore, solving the problem of delivering such biomaterial is a real breakthrough. Previously, such transportation was considered impossible: blood plasma is stable for only about three hours from the moment it is taken from the patient, transportation by road often led to distortion of the results of the biosample study, and delivery by plane is expensive," the press service quotes him as saying.
Maxim Dolgopolov, PhD in Medicine and Associate Professor of the Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics, General and Clinical Immunology at the Pacific State Medical University, noted that the technology opens up new opportunities for medical logistics using drones. "If we were able to successfully transport biomaterial for such a sensitive study, which is extremely demanding in terms of storage and transportation conditions, then this creates the potential for delivering biomaterial for most other laboratory studies and, perhaps, even vaccines and drugs in the most difficult climatic and geographical conditions," the press service quotes Dolgopolov as saying.
The experiment took place within the framework of the strategic academic leadership program " . Far East".
