Well now gas jumped up to $3.05 to $3.15 a gallon yesterday. The other fuels prices are very steady.

We are now ranging from $2.96 to $ 3.09 a gallon for unleaded plus which is an 10% ethanol blend. This is the most popular and lowest priced fuel in Iowa.

It snowed here yesterday..yep.. Not much, about a trace to 1/2 inch depending on where you live. It's cold today ..right now it's 41F or 5c. Just a tad nippy!

I have to agree with this article. Renters more likely make nightmare neighbors and they show a basic disrespect for other people's property. The neighborhood where I grew up use to be middle class. It's downgraded some since so what use to be mostly homeowners on block are now mostly rentals. You can't start a neighborhood watch because your neighbors are a part of the problem. I have a friend who lives in an unincorporated town. You see a mix of well-off to poor people. There's a lot of Section 8 housing. So there was a vehicle theft right out from the Simpsons cartoon. The school bully, Nelson, has a criminal for a father. There was an episode where he hot-wired and stole a car. He takes off and makes a U-turn and parks it across the street where his house is. That's what happened but instead it was a motorcycle.

Anyone here have good knowledge in medicine?

Anyways, I've been having this weird problem whenever I try to sleep; before I fall asleep, I would experience/hear a jolting "zap" emanating from inside my head and a brief flash of light from behind my eyes that would usually get me fully awake. It seems that I'm not the only one with this issue.

Does anyone have information on the cause of this weird problem?

Well I hope you don't have ObamaCare, lol, but we would need some more information to understand, blood pressure, video game exposure, stress levels, work, age, weight, and general fitness. Our bodies respond to their environment, and if it occurs when you first go to bed that is helpful. NOW tell your DR, I don't even pretend to be a Dr. but my two cents are that it sounds like some type of an "ocular migraine", they are quite common in men, 35 and up, and are quite disconcerting, some men experience "auras" or shimmering light, they may be triggered by many things.

If you want to pm me with some of the details, I could try to be more helpful, if you are a pilot, definitely pm me, one of my good friends is currently "grounded", waiting to have these aura's explained as to cause???? brat

In the meantime, I will pray for you, probably nothing more serious than the symptoms of too much good food, and food allergies are a prime suspect, msgs- very prevalent in good Chinese food.... LOL Brat

Have you see a doctor regarding it?

I would recommend seeing one immediately. It may be nothing, but it could also be something serious in your brain or with your eye. Take no chances, and DO NOT put it off.

Time can make a HUGE difference if it is serious.

I agrees with Jeff on this. Go to the doctor's as soon as possible.

It sounds like the neurons in your brain is misfiring. Could be a light symptom of seizure. Do you only get this at night? Or anytime when you try to sleep? Which side of the brain does it usually occur? Do you feel anything else after the episode? Muscle weakness? Dizziness? Nausea? Feel of confusion? What about your heart? Do you feel your heart beating faster than normal?

Another possibility is a nerve pinch. It is possible that a certain part of your head hits something and the nerve in that part of your brain gets activated and gives you the sensation. Does this happen when you sleep in bed, or on a couch? Have you changed pillow lately?

Have you been playing a lot of video games before going to sleep? Lighten up on the gaming, which has been known to cause havoc in your brain.

All in all, it sounds to me like a seizure. See a neurologist. I would assume an EEG will find out what the problem is.

MSG symptom is a total myth. People have done experiments to test this many many times. It's a total myth. As a matter of fact, a typical 12-ounce steak contains several times more MSG than any typical meal you would get at any Chinese restaurant. If you feel fine after eating a steak, then you are not allergic to MSG. Turkey is another source of MSG. It packs humongous amount of MSG.

Now Vesi, I worked for William Underwood Co. in Hannibal, MO. one semester, I was the "dumper" on the "Accent" line, you guessed it MSG, sold as a flavor enhancer, also a preservative, I never had so many migraines, One 50lbs sack after another, one day I dumped 40,000lbs of MSG in the hoppers of my three lines. So, MSG will trigger migraine, as will various light frequencies and allergens.

So, fact is lots of Chinese buffets here in Central Obamastan, I ate at the Panda Express in Carlinville, Obamastan yesterday, great food and great service, their food is prepared in smaller quantities and very fresh, I wasn't picking on Chinese restuarants, and yes lots of different restaurants still use MSG as it is a flavor enhancer. Nitrites are used in most "cured" meat products as well, bacon, hot dogs, ham, and did I say BACON, those are known triggers for migraine. So back to our brother, Sino Soldier, I wouldn't be surprised if you arer having ocular migraines, I would check this out with your. In the meantime, follow the advice of your brothers, I do hope you find a simple explaination, and I will continue to pray for you, I will also try to do a little research. brat

In Cambodia, we are using a kind of soup powder called "chicken powder" to replace MSG. In fact, most of the things we eat contain MSG except fruits but, again, those fruits are usually fertilized with chemical fertilizer. They spray chemical on the trees to make the trees produce more fruits. None of the foods we eat today are really considered safe. I remember an English saying in my school book "One of the secret of success is to eat whatever you want and let the food fight it out inside you"
