I just saw a commercial for RT America. I want that channel but Direct TV doesn't have it yet. I'd rather watch Current TV than Al Jazeera America. For all the criticism of Al Jazeera and it foreignness, it's really now a bunch Western journalists doing what Western journalists do. Now RT... that's hardball news journalism. Ironic for the Russians to ask the question you don't hear in the mainstream media.

RT's views of the West is an exact mirror image of the West's view of the communist countries. It focuses on the negatives, that are sometimes do not reflect the whole situation of the West. Pretty much the same as how NYtimes, CNN, BBC, AFP, etc, covers China.

There is a reason why the average American is very anti China these days. A lot of American mainstream media purposely focus on the negatives and are extremely bias against China.

My FIL who by the way is one of those folks people would refer to as a good old southern country fried 'redneck' went to China a couple of years ago and was actually SHOCKED that people are actually nice over there. Perhaps they were nice because they want his US$..LOL

Sure he saw his fair share of '3rd world' type issues like pollution, hygeine issues in the countryside and some 'weird' foods however I think he came away realizing that not every Chinese person is a communist american hating copycat thief.
He even said he liked a lot more people he met over there than many in his home state which coming from someone like him is quite the miracle.

For me I will try to get a perspective from both sides to get a medium on a particular subject, but alot of the time they don't cover the same stories. Unless it's a major news story the viewer can compare, but other than that each has their own mini journalistic stories to talk about.

I find that Al Jazeera and Reuters usually have pretty high quality news and analysis, more so than the BBC or most other places. Each have their own bias, but once you look at enough of their reporting it becomes fairly obvious when it comes up. The Financial Times and Bloomberg are also pretty decent most of the time.

Each network has their own focus/agenda so the types of stories they cover are usually different. But from the content of these stories and how they cover them you can usually figure out their political slant.

Yes Russia Today has a pretty strong bias. I prefer the subtler more high-brow anti-Western bias that Al-Jazeera sells. (even though Al-Jazeera is kind of Western in itself) Nevertheless, some of the analysts on Russia Today freak me out, they remind me of evil vampires or something haha. On the other hand, American news analysts remind me of salesmen/strippers.

Idaho Statesman said:
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — A southeastern Idaho ranch lost 176 sheep as the animals ran in fear from two wolves that chased through a herd of about 2,400 animals south of Victor.

Sheepherders for the Siddoway Sheep Co. heard the wolves at about 1 a.m. Saturday, but didn't know the extent of the damage until they saw the sheep piled up on each other at daybreak.

Idaho Wildlife Services State Director Todd Grimm says it's the greatest loss by wolves ever recorded in one instance in the state. About nine years ago, wolves killed 105 sheep on one night.

Wolves are ruthless, efficient killing machines...and they do it for sport.

This incident happened not too far from where my in-laws live, about 300 miles from here. Of these 176 dead sheep, one was mostly eaten, 10 were mauled to death, and 165 SHEEP WERE ASPHIXIATED by the wolves. Most died from being jammed together upon each other in their panic.

Idaho has a wolf hunt season now and it has been expanding. In some counties it is year round. In most counties it runs from August of one year through the end of June of the next.

Wyoming and Montana also now have wolf hunts.

IMHO, these animals should be on an open season, no limit hunt list. No license required where the State or County pays a bounty for their hide. They are doing great harm to the commerical livestock industry, they have decimated the deer and elk herds, they take pleasure in running down and killing any domestic dog they see...and they will attack humans.

Hope you have Gatling gun to hunt all of them down together.

Anyway, please take care of your own safety when dealing with them.

Best wolf and coyote gun I have is my FAL, .308 caliber. A couple of twenty round clips and I am good to go.

I also carry a side arm, usually my .44 Magnum Smith and Wesson

But, all of that was several years ago, now, since my three surgeries and resulting disabilities due to bone cancer in my spine in 2010, I personally do not get off into the back country any more. I do take drives in my pickup back in there...but do not get off into hiking and camping away from established camp grounds any more.

Either way, I always have my dog and that rifle with me when I am back in there.

I had a really nice Browning Compound bow for a long time, but after my surgeries I sold it.

If you were going to go on such a hunt, I would not recommend hunting wolves, particularly if you're looking for a pack, with a bow of any type. Unless you were accompanied by someone with a good semi-automatic rifle.
