Re: Real life thread...anyone?

Well, I guess the most important thing in my life right now is that my wife and I are expecting a baby in January.

Well Solarz, I was looking at some of these old posts, and realized you are getting close to having a two year old???? How is Fatherhood working out for you brother? Hope everyone is healthy and getting ready for the holidays?

We had 16 degrees F (-9 C) for a low yesterday and it only got up to 28 F (-2 C). Last night it got cloudy and got down to 20 F (-7 C). It is now 2F (-7 C) with a forecast of 2-4 inches (5-10 cm) of snow this afternoon and evening. 12-18 inches (30-45 cm) will fall in the mountians.

In fact, it has already started:

Emmett, ID Weather: 2014-1113 0845

First snow of the year here in the valleys of SW Idaho.

Going to stay pretty cold well into next week. They are predicting a low of 5 degrees F (-18 C) on Sunday morning which is early in the year for it to be approaching zero like that.

Of course, in the Mid-West, this arctic blast has already produced much colder temps.

AFB and Popeye I am sure have felt it.

Yes cold and breezy, and a very light snowfall at the moment ?

I will check back in tomorrow and let everyone know.

If we get so much as a quarter of an inch of snow here in Austin, traffic will be paralyzed for days!

have lived in the Austin area before...and had grandparents in Hutto as a kid (of course back then it was a sleepy little town a long ways from Austin, though now it is more a suburb).

I have seen 6-8 inches of snow in Austin before...but that only happens once every 20 years or so.

Here we now have over six inches on the ground and it is still coming...they are still saying another 3-5 inches for us.

Maybe tomorrow on the way to work I will take a few pics and post them.

I don't envy you brutal! It's beautiful God's country up there but no soirée bob... Me and extreme cold weather don't mix. I don't like it where I am now and we were only in the low 30s today. San Diego has the best weather out of any place I've been to. northern Thailand is alright too.

I'm the same about heat and humidity. Grew up in North central Texas. Great for farming. we got five cuts of hay per year with no irrigation. But I remember as a young boy and then teen hauling hay in 106 degree heat and having to work at night when it would get down into the mid-90s after midnight and decided cool was the way to go for me.

You can always put more on in the cold...hehehe, but you can only take so much off in the heat. And in that kind of heat, even taking it all off would not help...you'd just fry...or with the humidity, boil.

So here I am in Idaho and loving it.

As for this storm, we have 8.7" of snow on the ground at our home in Emmett this morning at 7 AM. Still snowing lightly. We may end up with 10" from this one. 26 degrees now and it may warm slightly before more artic air comes in this afternoon. Lows around 5 degrees Sunday morning and highs in the low 20s.

Later in the winter we will have a few night down around 15 below with highs around zero or in the single digits. But that is not too often here. SW Idaho is the banana belt of Idaho, LOL!

I created a new thread for Member's Weather Reports.

I think it would be neat for members to stop in there every now and then and let us know what they are experiencing weather wise...and maybe post some pics. Here's the thread:

Members Weather Reports Threadhttp://www.sinodefenceforum.com/members-club-room/members-weather-reports-7109.htmlhttp://www.sinodefenceforum.com/members-club-room/members-weather-reports-7109.html

I kicked it off by posting several pictures of this snow storm we are having from my drive yto werok this morning.

Youi can all put your weather reports on that thread in the future.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! One small thing I am thankful for is this forum to discuss both important and unimportant things in life and learn more about the world.
