and when we left I held the car door open for my wife and the couple parked next to us saw this and you could see the wife tell the husband something and pointed at me..then she socked her husband in the shoulder for effect.:)

is terrific fast food. A little pricey but great chow.

My co-worker goes there so often that he had 20 coupons for custards. We went there last Thursday and got frozen custards while watching opening world cup game.

Well, yesterday was my birthday.

I had an important program meeting for which I am the program manager in a city about 200 miles from here. People were coming in and conferencing in from all around. I left here at 6 AM to go get the vehicle I was driving over and arrived there at 9:45 AM. Then I had meetings there until about 3:30 PM. Afterwards, I traveled back and got home close to 7 PM.

Long day...but my wonderful wife of 36 years had prepared a birthday dinner and invited our kids and grandkids who live in the area over to celebrate. We had a wonderful time and it made for a very good and joyous end to a very full day.

Happy belated Birthday Jeff my friend!:D

First Happy Birthday Jeff,,,,, and many happy birthdays in the future brother. Now to the happy daydreamer, I would imagine that many of us have some daydreams Jura, one of my favorite daydreams is to fly a helicopter, I can feel it spooling up and the turbine/recip, (I much prefer turbines), coming up to RPM, followed shortly by the Main Rotor. Sitting there for that moment waiting for transmissions, etc, coming up to speed and temp, followed by a further increase in RPM and UP collective, and then slowly gracefully fly away, over or around obstacles that tower above me..... that's only one of the many, and many evolve out of my flying experiences, for instance I love to hear/feel the grass tickling the main landing gear tires as you hold off the flare, hold it, hold it, swish and shish,,,,,,,,,,as you smoothly plop out of the air, and onto the grass like a giant bird????

That Hog was leavin, they will also eat you, and with those tushes that would be most unpleasant, some kinda 12 gauge? as a "stopper". Does show how quick wildlife can gain the upper hand, now you know why they call them Razor Backs, Hook Em Hogs!

TE decided to show a little bit of some thing Close to home. So he hit the Calvin Coolidge presidential library. Which is probably one of the smallest presidential libraries.
Calvin Coolidge 30th President of the United states August 2, 1923 – March 4, 1929 Republican
His policys are a bit Ironic in the context of the location of his Presidential library as Northampton Ma today is a very liberal area, yet his policies are considered as a prototype for the Reagan Administration.

I call it small as this entire presidential Library fits in a single room on the Third floor of The Forbes Library in Northampton Ma
Not on display as it's likely loaned out is A mechanical Horse.

LOL now I recalled this story: After I had arrived to Massachusetts, in January of 2001, I was taken to a free lunch heheh where at some point the conversation topic was Politics, so I said I liked President Reagan, and the topic was changed (at that time I didn't know why :)

Did you note how the hog swung his tusks at the guy...those tusks are sharp and he was trying to cut the guy down...hamstring him or something. The guy fell out of the way and then shot the big boar, and it certainly looked like a 12 ga to me.

But that was one big boar.

We've been having some really bad storms across Iowa the last few days. We had one here in Cedar Rapids. Lots of 70 mph wind and rain. Lots of down trees damaged roofs, flash flooding etc and power outages. Our power is still on but it has been out twice in the last week. But just for a couple of hours each time.

I went to work tonight but we had to secure the building and cancel the evening meetings ..no power.

This report is from this morning. More news later tonight.
