Hmm indeed. I wonder what the actual range of the missile is. I'm still not willing to take the DoD's estimates at face value, they could have easily have taken the number form DF-21C as well.




I'm still waiting for other people's opinions on the sub model and what the strange contraption on 094's fin is

so a new one or the old? if it's a second unit, it is not a test object anymore

I've read on other forums that according some rumors 095 could use magnetohydrodinamic drive, and will have , similarly to last US subs, retractable foreplanes. Another article claimed that probably USN will move most of their new subs to Pacific to counter China, indirectly indicating progress on China Navy. Assuming that this year the 095 will sail some more or less official estimates of his capability will come out for sure: I can't wait!!!

Then, we can assume that this submarine is a SLBM testing submarine.

However this submarine also has torpedo tubes. Why did they also installed those tubes, if this submarine is for SLBM testing ??

To test new torpedos and/or so if the sh*t hits the fan the submarine can still be useful and/or better to have it than not to.

A no brainer really.

Could it be where they spool out a towed array.
