Guys...PLAN bases in Pakistan, bases or port facilty use in Brazil or in America are all off topic on the PLAN South China Sea Fleet and Base Thread.

They belong on the Chinese Geo-strategic thread perhaps, or a seperate thread for PLAN Basing Strategy away from the Western Pacific or somehting. But not here.

Please get back on topic.

Had dinner with my old man yesterday after his spent a week in south china sea, he told me 'cough' new sub base 'cough' is planned 'cough' in hainan 'cough cough cough'...

I think you missed the point of the question. There's already a massive sub base off Hainan. Would it makes sense to build yet another one there rather some other province instead of putting all eggs in one basket?

I know there is already a sub base in hainan, but like you I too dont know the reason behind building another one on the island. i am too curious but dare not to ask for info that would not be sensitive enough to out put him in trouble. so please understand my situation.
