Re: Completion of 1/350 PLA Carrier Model, Trumpeter Kit# 5617
Those older kids (8-12) do not tend to be the ones though doing the damge. It's the younger ones, 4-6 who reach for them and tend to do some damage.
But that's okay because I can easily fix it and then talk to them about being careful, respect for other's things, asking, etc. and teach some lessons that help them as they grow understand some pretty basic principles better than if it was just said to them...and done in a way so they understand the importance of it without thinking their "Papa" is an old grouch or likes his models better than he likes them.
BTW, I added some pictures of the area I use to as a shop to build the models and place them on shelves...thought some folks might be intetrested:
Interesting...that would be nice. but what they are doing is getting hooked on video games that include a lot of these vessels. There's one for kids that actually has fairly decent examples of US, UK, Russia and Chinese vessels in it.Hey Jeff, ever thought about having one of your models 3D scan and put together by a machine (that acts like a 3D printer)? That way your grand kids can play with one without having to damage the real model.
