PLAN Fleet supply vessels

Partially OT, but can the type 056s conduct RAS with these fleet supply vessels? So I'm wondering how the type 056 would resupply at sea. I can see helo for goods but not fuel.
I would think that perhaps they could...but on the other hand, they have never been billed as real ocean going vessels either. Therefore they would not normally have the need, and so perhaps the answer is just a simple no to UNREP.

In addition, I have not seen any UNREP stations on them, but I haven't looked real hard either.

They can certainly perform VREP on them.

Partially OT, but can the type 056s conduct RAS with these fleet supply vessels? I've seen footage where a type 051 can but they are much larger in displacement. I've also seen footage of a type 037 only having supplies being transferred by plank as the ship pulled up alongside the supplying vessel but both ships appeared to be stopped in the water. So I'm wondering how the type 056 would resupply at sea. I can see helo for goods but not fuel.
I would expect that side by side resupply would need a ship of larger size but that oil and water can be transferred while sailing in line. However in view of the fact that China has no likely reason to deploy these vessels far away and were they to be so deployed there is likely to be time to visit ports as necessary.
But I expect that when necessary the vessels will start training for it but not before.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I think the inline method may be possible assuming the 056 has some sort of UNREP station. I don't see RAS for 056s stemming from any long distance deployment but perhaps deployments involving them to remain at station.

4th unit looks to be ready for commissioning soon, and I don't think Type 056 has a liquid replenishment port so i don't think it can be refuelled

as I said in the other thread. While we are 99.9% sure this is 890, let's not assume it will be so until the number actually gets painted there. Just call it what it is. The type 903 from HD shipyard.
