The bow section of what, the LHA/D? Why would they build the bow section of the LHA/D in a building hall usually used for destroyers, so far away? Are you sure it isn't saying the black circle refers to the bow section of a new 052D or 055 or something?
The head section is rumoured to be in that building circled in black.

But looking at blow ups, it is not at all clear that that is what those are.
We should know sooner or later if it is as far along as that appears.

I have to admit that it is intriguing.
Could be an LHD/LPH if the starboard structure amidships is an island, and if the port, aft quarter indentation is an elevator.
But looking at blow ups, it is not at all clear that that is what those are.
We should know sooner or later if it is as far along as that appears.

Agreed! How come people missed something like this? OTOH that picture albeit taken from a distance and not super detailed sure does look like some sort of LHA/LPD type ship to me. Definitely not civilian nor tanker, cargo ship etc. AFAIK China isn't building this type of ship for anyone else either.
This could turn out to be a very interesting picture going forward! IMHO an almost finished brand new class of 40K ton etc LHA/LPD would be an even bigger news than Liaoning but I'll wait till clearer pictures/news to be sure!
