I'm pretty sure thats just the regular M99

Then the pic was taken in a drill, because I don't see the magazine loaded.

the Qestion was not on the Rifle, the Q. only was what Type of Scope use the scout nearby

So far nobody has a clue, aside from the fact that PLA's optical equipment ain't get that much of attention as their other hardware. But from what can be seen, the spotter was using a telescope with integrated laser rangefinder, don't know if that included ability to "paint" target for precision munitions though.

Ok, if you would bear with CCTV, this month they've been on "Somalia special" or something...

While no much grand revelations there, there're some insights into their operations.

The South Koreans are doing work against the Somali pirates right now, conducting a beautiful hostage rescue op earlier today and killing several pirates in the act of hijacking on Tuesday.

Rescuing 21 hostages, on a ship with 8 pirates, for no friendlies/hostages killed is very, very tough. These guys deserve a lot of credit for perfectly executing such a difficult operation.

Also, on a somewhat humorous side note, the ship involved in Tuesday's incident was from...Mongolia? How does that work?

Congrats to the South Korean navy on the successful hostage rescue!

I think the Mongolian ship probably takes off from Chinese or Russian ports.

Malaysia had also manage to retake a ship that had been boarded by the Somalia pirates on Saturday.

I am under the impression that China's navy are abit too soft on these pirates. Till now they are only shooing off the pirates. I think the chinese should take a tougher stand and really knock some bullets into the pirates' arses.
