We will have o wait for confirmation.

Whatever, the mock up at Wuhan is a living model that the PLAN is going to use to test/play with/develop/take an advanced look at the types of things they are planning from a go forward perspective as well as testing things and improving them as they exist.

They are getting good use out of it for sure.

Yep, they're definitely modifying the mock up for good reason, I'm sure.

the question is whether we'll end up viewing its configuration as fully representative of what a carrier's island will closely resemble, or if it will be merely a "frankenstein" island where it will retain certain characteristics of islands of older carriers (like Liaoning) in addition to new characteristics.

I think it likely that it will be the functional equivalent of whatever is coming.

a satellite pic comparison of the catapults at Huangdicun with the USS Ford's catapults, with all pictures taken at the same visual height to have a more accurate gauge of relative size.

That carrier island is such a contrast to the Liaoning. Goes to show the advancement in China carrier technology and construction.
