Do we have a "modeling" thread on here somewhere? Not trolling. Generally interested.
Well, it is off-topic here, but e have several Build and Review Threads in the Members Club Room Forum, from myself and several other members.

We could probably start new Threads in that forum for:

- Model Building Techniques & Discussion - Injected Molded Plastic Kits
- Model Building Techniques & Discussion - Resin Kits

Okay, getting back on topic, and since the strike aircraft are the principle reason for the Chinese to have their carriers....

Here are pics of all of the J-15 aircraft I have found, which now include the 6 prototypes, and the 18 production aircraft, 100-117. I actually have two or three photos of each aircraft.

Here are the six prototype J-15s:

And here are the next six production aircraft, 112-117 (which was already seen earlier as Bltizo pointed out)::

Altogether, then, that is 18 production aircraft we know of which are flying and I believe all of them have been on the Liaoning. But the 117 was lost, so that leaves 17 production aircraft. We also have 6 flying prototypes. So 23 flying J-15 aircraft.

I have to believe that they have produced more.

Perhaps there were 24 production aircraft in their first batch.

Who knows? (Well, certainly there are those in the PLAN who know for sure! LOL!)

We will have to wait until we see them.

so this is your opinion? You shouldn't see China with amercan eyes.
We have talked about this for years, folks!

it's a "FICTIONAL" novel. Written to show off a lot of military technology at the time (late 1990s early 2000s and what was projected back then), and for entertainment.

I admit to writing some of my own personal political and moral principles into the books...but as the author, I get to do that.

Over the years it has done quite well...for a completely self published novel. well over 25,000...maybe 30,,000 have sold. The wife and I still get a check each quarter of around $400 from it...a little more around Christmas time.

But it is fiction, and it is a novel for entertainment...really, that was the principle motivating factor.

That is all.

Now let's get back on topic.

Thanks.

Here's an overhead photo of the 001A Carrier construction at Dalian, as posted on the 'Janes' webpage today.View attachment 30665
I don't think this image has been posted here, apologies if it has!
Anyway, its a neat aerial view of the carrier.
That's looking good.

The aft elevator is installed.

Both sections of the island are sitting there waiting to be lifted.

But...here's what I hope to see soon:

Notice, I am showing the openings through the flight deck closed off and all of that internal work done. When we see this, then the structure will be complete.

Here's to hoping we see her looking like this within the next couple of months..
