if my memory serves me right, looks like whenever there's a real tension in the sea a US admiral will visit the CV-16.
From the proportion it looks that either the island is shorter (therefor smaller) if the width is the same, or wider if the length is the same, IF there is no section to be added.

I'm 100% certain that these visits are planned MONTHS ago. The USN CNO has an extensive travel itinerary.
