The new uniforms definitely look more professional. The only complaint I have is the emblem, which looks way too big and rather clumsy. I hope they keep the emblem on that hat simple and small. From what I've heard, they will be making the uniform change in July or August.

Update: seems like the uniform change in the Hong Kong garrison is scheduled for July 1, 2007: , which is the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China. Outside Hong Kong, the new uniforms won't be issued until August 1, 2007, the 80th anniversary of the PLA establishment.

Any news about if there will be a People's Armed Police (PAP) uniform change as well?

July 1st for Hongkong units, others Aug 1st.

Dont like it, lack of imagination, who did the designer bribe to got those uniform through? It looks identical to US and ROC military in most aspect, not ugly, but just dont feel any special or uniqye.

hey I just saw the new uniform is wore by the hong kong PLA grassion troops on the 10 year hong knog mainland reunion! they seems to be the first one this year to get the new 07 type uniform! any one have pictures?

Thank you for the uploads. The new uniforms look very professional. The emblem might look bloated and overly-complex, but other than that, everything's fine. There's no need for a "Chinese flavor" to the uniform, because with globalization, everything's connected and more or less the same.

LOL, many many desert uniforms and boots American and British soldiers wear in Iraq today are supplied by Chinese factories, the same factories supplying PLA uniforms.

I don't get it the mid-90's uniform redesign was fine. What they need to do is not adopt the berett every 3rd rate military has adpoted it to try and look first rate when in reality the suck. As long as they do not recall the Mao style service uniform which is the most Chinese of their uniforms I 'm not going to complain.

It looks more professional than previous uniform. Maybe it reveal the message that the China's military transform from quantities to qualities.
