HQ-19 and DN-3 are supposed to be quite decent. It didn't work for US, but US is working with higher corruption and a smaller economy.

Barring a black swan leap, I don't think China can achieve anti-US protection level, but even an ability 1/4th of the way there will be sufficient to stop any other nuclear country besides US and Russia. All the interceptors can also be used in conventional war (iffy if DN3 works, they're huge like the GBI).

Rocketry is China's best strength, like how turbofans are US'. It makes sense to endlessly sharpen it.

It means Washington wants Beijing to do nothing about the continued push for independence.

Lai’s speech is expected to call for “national unity” and strengthening the island’s international status, according to Taiwan’s Central News Agency.

They're probably smart enough to realize that trading political speeches on the news for military progress on the ground is a bad deal, but lack the control to prevent Lai from talking.

US maintains very aggressive rhetoric but they have not showed plan preparations of an attack for awhile, or even preparations that would reveal that the concepts of an attack plan exists.

I think they're gradually realizing that with so much pressure on them globally and an unfavorable economic situation, there is no hope in continuing attempts at territorial aggression, especially against a more powerful country. The rhetoric will be the last to go.
