Fishing boats from mainland are now fishing near Hsinchu, 6nm off the coast of Taiwan main island itself. Might have made off with fish cages placed by Taiwanese fishermen too.
A follow up to this:
006fcjhnly8hnm3shc4kjj30ue0u0dn0.jpgAfter Taiwanese fishermen reported to ROCCGA that there were 3 mainland fishing ships 6nm away from coast CGA dispatched their PP-10035 to investigate. However the CGA ship encountered bad sea states with high wind and waves 3-4m high and returned back to port.

What kind of fishing ships are Fujian guys using to operate in that sea state???

Nothing special about Fujian fishing boats but the winds blew from the East and are category 17.

Took me a second to realize what you meant. Giant waves too I take it?

I'm watching CTI News about it. Apparently ROCCGA had 3000 ton ship on hand that they could send out, but elected to send the 100 ton PP-10035 instead, which then used the bad sea state excuse to refuse the order.

ROCCGA may be worry about getting baited by CCG. I saw something like this in Kinmen already:

Fishing boat 400m inside the restricted area around Kinmen while CMSA ship lurked just outside 500m away. If CGA does send out their ship in this situation they may get pounced.

The text in the screen shot says 400m from Dadan island (one of the islands part of Kinmen county).
