Upgraded QBZ-03 in that same exhibition. They put scope like that on it instead of red dot or something similar usually found in rifles.... it's supposed to look cooler?

The stock seems low.. how do you do a 'chin weld' for longer range engagement? especially displayed with a scope like that?
there are a lot of things wrong with that set up.

Best option would be to add a check rest of some kind to the stock. Its some times seen on wire type side folding AKMs to rig up a simple rest from a verify of materials.

option two would be to try and use the rear portion of the upper receiver cover behind the rear sight.

The majority of the buyers for these items are airsoft players.
In the airsoft world, they like to have what they call "full markings" which is the logos and trademarks.
For some reason, they like to be as realistic looking as possible. They even wear replica nigh vision goggles/monocles on their NVG helmet mount, but the funny thing is that they are dummy non-functioning units. LOL :p

Yeah and I believe I've answered the similar thing on #232 as well...let's just say those real deal are either not cheap, or are on the Controlled List that will get you arrested to buy / export / import / own one, with or without proper license...

Case in point: L-3 GPNVG-18.

Kinda reminds me of the CAM870 airsoft shotgun, modelled after the Remington 870 shotgun...because that bugger can take real gun parts, there're owners in HK (don't know other places, but I do know it is here) who sought after mod kits from Magpul and other, and these stuff need export licence in order to get them from the US, so AFAIK it's done in small batches.

It's funny that they take it so serious, like those civil war re-enactment people.

It's just like those Star War cosplayers, really, the only difference is that they put a lot of time and money onto a movie accurate Stormtrooper armor set that's all.

fyi; I have seen these China made red dot sights and holographic sights being sold by less than scrupulous vendors at gun shows in the US

I won't be surprised that after a few rounds, the only thing still working is the battery.

Thats a bit too far, red dots are not that complex piece of equipment. I had one a decade ago, and for all intent and purpose it works, contrast is not the best and zero will move; but not to the point where you can't hit a man sized target down range ~ 25 yards with a pistol. So you are paying for what you are getting, but it aint that bad.

If such I'd prefer the good'o iron sight instead. If the zero drifts on an airsoft that's tolerable because it won't hurt too much unless you're doing APSC (IPSC but with airsoft, though people take part in APSC simply grab real gun's red dot sights), since cosplay won't require you to shoot, war games mostly a lot of spraying.

But real gun can be a life or death thing, those few dollars saved won't be enough to buy yourselves a coffin.

Sorry missed your earlier post
Airsoft is big in HK? I thought they had very strict guns law there. (granted airsoft is not a real firearm)

To Get Hong Kong Returned to them The Peoples Republic of China and the United Kingdom negotiated a deal. Part of that Deal was as Dictated by the UK who had made a massive investment in Hong Kong, that the Chinese Communist Party would take a Kidd Glove approach to Hong Kong Sovereignty. This means that the Laws of the Mainland are not necessarily those of Hong Kong and Macau. This can Drive Mainlanders And our Pro PRC members up a wall because Hong Kong is viewed as "Lawless" particularly when the Hong Kong civilian populations Chafes against some new Edict form Beijing.
One of thee more lenient rules of Hong Kong is Airsoft as I understand it it's legal in Hong Kong.

China only agreed to keep HK's governing system 'as is' for fifty years, and the agreement is fulfilled/ended after 2029. If CCP wants Taiwan to peacefully rejoin mainland, then is is wise to leave HK be even after 2029.

Not enough to call it big but certainly not small, the primary law regarding airsoft is simple one: muzzle velocity 2J or below do not require license for ownership; anything above or real firearms require strict license, typically those not use firearms for living need to join the only gun club in HK, the firearm is under lock and key inside the club, not for use outside unless on competition overseas.

That said, most airsoft made in Japan, Taiwan and HK fits the classification (for a time there are made in China too, not anymore since 2008, those survived now OEM components for HK brands, final assembly made in HK, a few HK brands have arms factory made components for them as sell point), and thus legal to own without licensing requirement. You can buy real bayonets if you got the money, same goes for real gun components to mod your airsoft for more "real feel", if you goes to the retailer who got the proper export license in the US or elsewhere. Police won't interfere cosplay event or matches that runs proper and in orderly fashion. Idiots who brandish their stuff in public deserves to be arrested, simple as that.

Some larger gun shops organizes weekend matches, just pay for the couch fare and lunch if you got your own gear.
