Right after the Spring Festival, an armored regiment under the Xinjiang Military Area Command of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army maneuvered with actual troops and real equipment to the snowy Tianshan mountains to conduct a confrontation drill with full strength and all elements in the whole process, in a bid to temper the troops’ ability in actual combat and speed up the transformation of combat effectiveness generation mode.

The caption is just a general description of the photos. The real captions made no sense when translated.

On March 2, an exam was given to 45 female recruits on the common subject of light-weapon live-ammunition firing organized by a communication regiment of the airborne force in northwest Hubei Province. This was the first time for the 45 female recruits to have the test of live-ammunition firing.

Is that a posed photo? Or do they really have a photographer taking pics in front of a rifle during a live firing (in the background)?

Also, I find it rather interesting that an air force (blue insignia on the female troops) communications regiment need to do such tests. Shouldn't there be other units defending an air force communications regiment?

^^ In my experience everyone in the military no matter the country needs to know how to fire a weapon.

Is that a posed photo?
I'd say most of the photos of the PLA are posed/staged. Compare them to oh..I don't know?? Humm USN photos..and some of them are staged..

Today's US Navy Hi-res Photos!

Having someone else defending you is one thing, but knowing how to defend yourselves would be a completely different matter. Completely relying on someone else to defend/protect you, even as a civilian, is a bad idea. In the military? It would be unacceptable, no matter which branch it is...

The implication is that the PLAAF is expecting to deploy it communications regiment in potentially hostile territory where they expect attacks by ground forces. Another "self-defence counter-attack" type scenario that they are training for?

This is possible. However, it is mostly likely that this was simply a routine practice. Let's face it, even college students in China get to shoot guns. There must be millions of pictures of college students doing shooting practice during their disciplinary training in their first year in college on the web. Does that mean China is trying to arm college students and send them to combat? I hardly think so. I personally don't think there is much meaning behind these photos...

every one who Wears a Uniform in the military has too at least qualify from cooks too computer specialists. Even in peace time. It's part Necessity ( history has proven that when the chips are down the gloves come off and every one has too pull there weight.) It also keeps a Esprit de corps.
