To the left, GL-6 APS radar as mounted on VT-4A1. To the right, as mounted on "ZTZ-201" (even though this designation is yet to be verified).
Curiously, the antennas are configured differently. "ZTZ-201" L shaped radar is placed lets say upside down. But there is also an extra rectangular panel right besides it. Could be an extra antenna? What would be its purpose?

If China is ditching the 125mm for the 105mm for it's Main Battle Tanks then I cannot see this as anything other than a great downgrade.
Medium battle tank = main battle tank huh this is a 96 replacement the 99a is will be replace by next main battle tank
I’ve heard that its 105mm gun, based on a new design, offers even stronger armor penetration than the 125mm gun. Additionally, the crew compartment’s armor protection surpasses that of the Type 99A.
Sounds pretty unlikely and even if true it would have had even better penetration if they kept the velocity and ammunition shape the same while maintaining the 125mm calibre. Not to mention the inability to fire ATGMs as well as the massive decrease in the power of the HE-rounds. Although again I must caution that this is only true if the 125mm is being abandoned for MBTs.
Where did it mention to not be able to fire atgm?
I mean cannon fired ATGMs
