Among many of its applications, one of them is that semi-submersible ship can transport the Zubr-class large air-cushioned landing craft, which is too large to fit into the PLA Navy's amphibious landing ships, so the transport vessel is also useful in landing missions, the expert said.

So we have it carrying 3 small boats and a Zubr, amongst other things, including the possibility of entire weapons platforms.

I am wondering what these small boats were and what the weapons platforms they might be referring to are? Available space is over 30m x 100m.

PLAN comprehensive training ship Qi Jiguang (戚继光) has arrived at the port of Surabaya, Indonesia, and begun a three-day friendly visit. This is the first time the Qi Jiguang has visited Indonesia.

Probably Zubr and shorad (hq-17)? It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to carry additional cargo that wouldn't normally fit in the Zubr, since the main purpose of the semi submersible should be to give the Zubr longer legs.
