The number "1,000 km" should be replaced with "3,000 km"
I think you and I have the same idea.
In a conflict between peer rivals, shore based anti-ship missiles are going to make it VERY difficult for an enemy ship (or a fleet of ships) to attack a defended shoreline. Of course any goal can be achieved if enough money is thrown into it but in this case the costs would most likely be prohibitive.

In a recent joint exercise, a “malfunction” occurred on a PLAN naval vessel as per instruction by observer officials and the main radar was subsequently taken offline. Using data provided by a PLAAF AWAC, said naval ship managed to lock on, fire missiles, and obliterate the target.

huh, I wonder if that goes for most of there ship or not, and we don't know it fired a AA missile or a anti ship one do we? and what about other countries profermence on simmlar ability?
