They were not "on camera" (as in being shot by a TV crew), what you see was taken from surveillance video of the aft cabin.The two initially assigned to secure the latch were clearly at a loss and probably felt they needed to keep busy and didn't think through the situation first since they were on camera. The one who got hit was fortunately not killed, he looked up just in time so that he took a full frontal rather than having his skull bashed in or his neck broken. Well, this is what training is for and why it is very much needed especially for a military with no naval tradition on top of no combat experience and lots of conscripts.
The door was inadequately designed, didn't have proper locking mechanism to be used on a ship, not to mention a military grade vessel. It looks like on 052D it has been changed to outward opening doors with multiple latches. Hopefully they will learn from this and retrofit the 052C as well. Pic from cjdby:
