The news is somewhat PLAN related since USN sailed through Taiwan straight yet again for the hundredth time. Interntaional waters, freedom of navigation ... etc etc. Fair enough. It's a good thing for everyone that the US continues to show their allies and enemies exactly where they want everyone to think they stand. Where they stand when circumstances change is up for them to decide and reveal whenever it suits them. So more of the same old boringness.
It sounds like US is making up something to get mad about
The international waters of the strait are free for any nation to transit. That has never changed.
China has only warned America about parking on either side of the straits without prioral approval. It’s the difference between PLAN transiting the west coast and landing troops in San Fran.

Jiangnan shipyard at a glance... I see two 055s and seven 052Ds in the water. I'm unsure what's under wraps in the semi-enclosed assembly area. One more 052D appears to be poking out of a main assembly hall. Further off to the side, you can see the flattop modules under construction. The Chinese New Year is over, and things are back in full swing. All images are high-resolution.
