Let's make this easier, you say your friend's father say that US creature comforts cause them to lose the VW (despite the fact that the main issue was the rancid meat found in the MRE which you could not explain ), but I say that my friend's father says otherwise.

This article at least gives us a better understanding of the circumstances that surrounds the Vietnam War. But by all means believe the vague stories of a man that we aren't sure even exist if that makes you sleep at night.

Please don't twist my words, what I say is that I know another Vietnam veteran who states the exact opposite of what your veteran claim. At least get the facts right.
