Thank you, but my question is this: Which clear pics of serial numbers of kj200 have we seen so far?
30171, 30173 and 30174 for plaaf and now 9371 for planaf.

That is 4 units with circumstancial evidence for one more plaaf and one more planaf unit. Have there been any further sightings of any other serial numbers? (two planes for planaf doesnt seen enough to rotate planes on station)

Re: China naval AEW (most likely) spotted !?!

this has to be one of the most important developments for PLAN. I'm not sure if it's Y-7 derivative either. The vertical tailfins obviously point to something that requires a lot of change from the normal Y-7/Ma-60 series of aircraft. So until we see a more clear picture, I can't say it's a Y-7 derivative.

that certainly looks like a E-2C Hawkeye,
probably the one that Taiwan has?

we have 30171, 30173, 30174, 30175 and 9371 with another KJ-200 for planaf beside it. I mean we don't really need more KJ-200 photos to know that it will have 4 in that regiment if it doesn't already have it.

Someone said at keypublishing forum, that this wind tunnel is called NF-3, located in Mianyang in Sichuan Province and that its a old lowspeed tunnel. This is a old photo of the same wind tunnel

So its confirmed that china has at least a wind tunnel model of an carrier based AEW. The question is: what ii its current status ?? still in model stage, or something else ??

Well there are those pictures a few weeks back... but most people seem to be wanting clearer ones.

To answer your question it is almost certainly beyond the model stage. I'm thinking first prototype, maybe already made its first flight.

who knows ? but another question related, and no less important is that is this plane is probably geared for china´s hipotetical indigenous CATOBAR carrier, because i dont think this thing can fly off varyag. Or can it ??

Even IF it can, it would be with severly curtailed performance due to lack of fuel. I doubt it would be worth it.

Besides, it has been announced that varyag is a training carrier. Maybe they dont mind reduced performance

The phrase "training carrier" is used to sparsely. The "announcement" I wouldn't take seriously until we get a detailed page of specifying what they actually mean by "training".

And yes the AEWC looks like it will be due for the first indigenous carrier under construction.

i agree, i'm not sure that would be able to take off from an aircraft carrier. the navy's E-2C has to have a catapult in order for it to get off
also, the navy e-2d program had a huge weight savings program to get it off the deck without a catapult

as far as the lack of fuel, they can always do in-flight re-fueling to extend the missions

anyway, the y-7 AEW really looks like an e-2d

It also dies not help that one of the Images is Clearly a E3 and that the second image that is purported too come from another image is a Distance shot of ultra low quality. and if it is the aircraft it looks nothing like the Y7 air frame it's supposed too be based on.
Now if it looked like this

I might have some trouble. The Tail is the same type as the y7 the conventional single fin low wing.It has a high wing two engines As this Airframe is a lot closer too the Y7 but the engines are too small.

and in this case I know it's a fake.
I made it Using a Real image of the EADS CASA C-295 AEWC and photo bucket took me all of three minutes.
