^ the links to the pictures go directly to the latest page on the carrier thread, so I can't really reply to that (I assume you mean E-2 rather than E-3?).

And sorry, but I don't really understand why the C-295 was brought into this? (And which picture did you make using five minutes?)

Btw, if this is to suggest the ease at which things can be PSed, then yes the pictures of this aircraft we had a few weeks ago could have been done so, certainly some of them could have (the ones with it supposedly in flight). But I do not think the ones of the aircraft partially obscured and near a hangar were, due to the multiple different angles taken, and without a real match of any E-2 photos.

My point being that those photos could easily be faked via the easiest methods or even miss Identified Especially It only when we compare them, Study them and really chew over that we could find some truth. and yes i meant the E2. there Was a photo that came up claiming too be a new PLAN AEWC yet quite boldly Sporting the roundel of the ROC. There are also easy cases of photos where in we could be seeing known aircraft obscured by another. I am not ready too say there is a PLA naval AEWC There Could be yes but non of the Photos seen are proof of anything yet.

One thing is certain. There is/was a chinese carrier AEW program. See the photos of the wind tunnel model.

What has become of it, or if it reached prototype stage is anyone guess at this point.

IMO, the photos of a prototype are not convincing. we need more

The recent C-295 AEW uses a mechanical steered active electronically scanned array -- and its radar looks near identical to the E-3s, and other legacy mechanically steered arrays.

So a couple of pages back, I think there was an article (can't remember if I posted it) that claimed the ZKD-03 used an AESA. I'm thinking that it may be very possible.

New KJ-2000 AWACS

There are at least four KJ-2000s in operation.

"The AWACS aircraft designated KJ-2000 made its first flight in November 2003. Following some extensive flight testing at China Flight Test Establishment (CFTE) in Yanliang, Shaanxi Province and radar system testing at an airbase near Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, the aircraft entered operational service between 2006~07. A total of four examples (30071, 30072, 30073, and 30074) are being operated by the PLAAF 26th Air Division based in the eastern Zhejiang province near the Taiwan Strait."

New KJ-2000 AWACS

That's actually not a new one but the original KJ-2000 prototype no. 762, which received a new colour sceme and IMO a new radar ... at least we've seen it during the last months without the disk and again with it.

Deino, I color-corrected three of the pictures on your web page. Substitute if you wish.

WpDbx.jpg

Finally after years of silence, without any note, the original first KJ-2000 prototype numbered ‘762’ re-appeared in a new splendid white-grey colour scheme with red and blue stripes quite similar to the already known Il-76MD engine testbed.

After the modifications – which had begun in late 2002 – were completed at the Xian Aircraft Company, the prototype was renumbered to “762” and repainted in a splendid white scheme with gray undersides, wearing huge CFTE-logos on the tail and CFTE-titles (China Flight Test Establishment) on the front fuselage. In this configuration the KJ-2000 performed its maiden flight on 11 November 2003.

Re: New KJ-200s AEW&C

according to huitong, ZDK-03 do not include "chinese JTDS" or link -16.due to sensivity of equipment.
