Pakistan considering to buy either Eurofighter or Rafale

Pakistan would not buy the Eurofighter EVEN if it was available because of
the spare parts issue.

I can guarantee that in future Pakistan isn't buying anything in the future
from any country where spare parts are likely to be an issue

Well my friend I think that Pakistan would be more then happy to buy EF Typhoon. Main problem whit EF is that PAF can’t afford it (not now and not in the near future)…
As for spare parts issue Pakistan currently buys large amount of US military equipment, so I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t buy European equipment (since Europe is much more reliable supplier then US) other then money issues…

No.

Pakistan is only buying equipment from the US for which it can readily
buy spare parts elsewhere or produce itself.

Please provide a list of the equipment for which you think Pakistan will
need spares from the US which it can't get elsewhere.

There is zero chance of pakistan buying the Typhoon. Which is an over
priced white elephant you really should read Hansard debates on the issue

Pakistan would not take it even at a low price because of the expense
and uncertainty

Well I may be wrong but you can’t buy F-16 spare parts, missiles, radar equipment etc. at your local store…
You may smuggle some spares, maybe even few engines but you can’t keep entire F-16 fleet operational only whit black market purchases…
I understand that Pakistan currently buys only equipment that is used in several countries but even that don’t guarantee constant flow of needed spare parts…
I know that they will have no problems whit UH-1 spare parts but large F-16 fleet is quite difficult to maintain without US spares deliveries…
As for EF let’s agree to disagree…

Well Pakistan has experience of maintaining F-16's over a decade without
spares :D and as regards the rest of the F-16 purchases...well the number
has been drastically cut back and lets just see if Pakistan decides to even
buy them....

Please provide the list of other items.

Well its not same thing maintaining 20 planes or 75-100 planes fully operational…
IIRC Pakistan during last two years negotiated whit US about purchase of fighters, helicopters, artillery radars, M109a5 howitzers, air defense radars, UAVs, communication equipment, frigates etc.
I’m not implying that they can’t buy/produce some spare parts for that equipment but you must agree that they are not fully capable to produce/acquire spares for every piece of equipment that they plan to buy/get for free from US…

No.

Negotiating is one thing buying is another. Pakistan ALWAYS
gives out conflicting info about proposed purchases because
certain countries have the habit of using proposed purchases
to then scupper pakistan's purchase.

Please provide a list of items Pakistan has actually bought and
we can look at how difficult it will be to get supplies.

Actually bought? Well it seems to me that Pakistan is only talking that they will buy things…
Ok by October 2005 US delivered one of 8 ordered upgraded P-3c Orion’s (I don’t know if remaining 7 are delivered), 2,000 TOW-2A missiles, 60 Harpoon Missiles, six PHALANX rapid-fire 20-millimeter guns, and the upgrade of six additional gun systems…

Ps. well not actually bought… US delivered that as part of foreign military help program, Pakistan was not paying full price…

Pakistan hasn't bought "anything" yet, the government has simply approved the purchases of F-16s, Erieyes, J-10s, etc, etc. The F-16s, J-10s, Erieyes and JF-17 are in their final stages of technical and financial discussions. You should also take note that Pakistan buys big ticket items in successive batches - especially fighter aircraft. Whatever it buys, you can expect it to stick to expanding the aircrafts' fleet over the medium and long-term. F-16 and J-10 are in Pakistan's financial scope for such large-scale acquisitions - EF-2000 is not.

If you buy american jets you don't even get the source codes for the computer systems, not even if youre a nato partner

i hopeGermany will not aquire Batch 3 Typhoons and invest the money in other Systems, so turkey could take these(or Saudi Arabia) since they are going to be equipped as fighter-bombers and the rest of the EF fleet will get updated to trance3 standard anyway
