They're lucky there was no wind. You couldn't see the Olympic flag upside down during the opening ceremony. Their problem was they had it folded up where by the time someone could notice, it was already too late. Maybe they'll spin it to say they meant to do that to show how free spirited Western countries are.
I am concerned if the China team will underperform. The setting in Paris is not good and might be a distraction to their performance. Especially with swimming where they have to do 21 tests.

IOC cut many Chinese dominated events like weightlifting while increasing western "sports" like break dancing, surfing and skateboarding
You can already tell the IOC is politically biased from the way they removed Russia.
