I dun think. So far it's not bad. The 4x100 men's and women's team relay are in final. The men's qualified first.

Li is China team workhorse. She is swimming in alot of events. AFAIK she is swimming the most events for china this Olympics. Some of them aren't her strongest events. She is more of a long distance swimmer but has been concentrating on middle distance last few years.

Zhang zhanshuo also missed out on 400m final. But he is a 17 yr old phenom. Still got high hopes for him for future.

Li's 400m time is slower than at the 2024 world championships. Zhang zhanshuo was part of 4x100m relay champion team in Doha, but is not part of it in Paris.

Li bingjie not expected to get gold in the 400 free anyway, the field is stacked with Aussies and Americans. so it is not an indicator that China's swimmers will under perform.

In other news, Zhang yufei had the fastest time in the prelims in the 100m butterfly.

I see thanks. Not sure if she is misfiring abit or there's other reason. There's talk the pool seem slower. Many other swimmers times are slower than expected. Interestingly the medalists for men's 400m free in Tokyo all didn't make the final for this one.

Zhang didn't swim the relays cuz I assume he is swimming the 400m free today too. The coaches call. But I understand your thoughts about choosing to swim the relay vs individual events when we had that discussion previously.
