That's the only language they understand. Act so arrogant before but when you win they cower in front of you.

That's why China should care less about what people think and more on winning.
Chinese athletes should carry a laminated print out of this with them at all times with the US and China rows highlighted for use whenever engaging a hostile conversation with a Westerner.

Whether it's Olympic events, academics, chips, the same broad pattern seems to repeat:

1. When you are clearly behind them, they sneer at you and look down on you for being weak
2. When you are close to catching up to them, they badmouth you and put you down
3. When you overtake them and win for the first time, they rage and accuse you of cheating or dismiss it as a one-time fluke due to them having a bad day.
4. When you keep winning, they shut up.

They can bitch, complain and cope all they want, China’s rise is unstoppable. China will beat the respect into them through victory after victory. This gold has shocked and rattled the West more than any other gold. 100 freestyle is the most competitive event because so many people can do the 100 freestyle which means the depth of talent is huge. To win Olympic gold with a world record in the final is monumental. Chinese man is the fastest swimmer on the planet!
Surely that would go to the winner of the 50 freestyle

If they can't catch Pan doping even though they did Over 20 tests, this might be the Jack Johnson/Jesse Owens/Muhammad Ali moment of China.

The one where the west tried to smear and do everything to sabotage China. And yet China still won and said we will not take this anymore.

This might be more important than getting than topping the gold chart. Every 4 years there's a chance. But this is a key milestone moment.

Not looking forward to badminton this year. The quality of top players really feels like it has dropped significantly from the past years.

Really miss the 2012-2016 era
2016 badminton only got 2 golds. Basically only 2 events they even got into the finals.

2016 was just awful for China. Lost to UK as well. I dunno what went wrong but I hope this time won't be as bad as that.
