French cuisine is supposedly number one around the world. Is it because it's only reserved for the elites and the people who say that is because they want think they're part of the elites? Forget everyone else. When you see shows talking about like Italian cuisines, they try to romanticize how it comes from the poor of Italy using simple ingredients. The same can be said of a lot of Chinese food but no romance. You know how a local newspaper will have restaurant reviews and give it a star rating? In San Francisco, non Chinese restaurants use to complain to the newspaper about being given the same number of stars as some Chinese restaurant. They believed Chinese food was on another level and it wasn't above... Then there's the phenomenon of whites writing cookbooks of recipes for Chinese food all openly saying how they made Chinese food better. A knock saying Chinese food is naturally unhealthy when the very restaurant industry that complains about Chinese food being seen at the same level at Western cuisine notoriously overly adds more sugar, salt, fat, and other unhealthy ingredients to make their food tastes better.
Yes another reason why the West wants to prevent China from hosting the Olympics ever again...
Only rich countries can afford to send their athletes to stay in air conditioned hotels while everyone else has to live in the Olympic village that has inadequate air conditioning and food being served. You have to wonder if it's intentional.
Ever wonder why during swimming events most of the more well-known Western swimmers get to swim in the middle lanes and you never see them in the outer lanes? People generally don't know that the closer to the sides you are the more splash-back you get from the waves hitting the sides of the pool. Swimming in the middle lanes gets less splash-back because the waves are dissipated more. In Beijing 2008 there were a whole lot of records being broken. Why? Because China used the latest technology to make the swimming events as idyllic as possible for everyone. They had these gutter systems on the sides of the swimming pool that prevented the splash-back from occurring making the water less choppy for all the swimmers.
Now the news rule of the Olympic committee are they going to pick host cities with less emphasis on newer venues in order to make it more open to cities with normal facilities so it can be more affordable. And which countries have that kind of existing Olympic infrastructure countries the most? Western countries. And the more famous Western athletes will still get the middle lanes of the swimming pool...
