The West has created a Cold War scandal at the Olympics by accusing Chinese swimmers of doping their way to victory.

Now the World Anti-Doping Agency just revealed how US ATHLETES have competed for years in violation of doping rules with the help of the U.S. anti-doping agency.

This is a typical case of China being accused of, without evidence, the very thing the U.S. does regularly. And it’s not about sports or competition. It’s about the U.S. losing its grip on global power and wanting to denigrate Chinese achievements in order to hold onto what’s left of its hegemony.

But it will fail, because the world is sick and tired of an empire predicated on endless war and exploitation, one that is a sore loser at that.

It weirds me to watch how the UK and Australia are becoming smaller Americas even on a cultural level.

Can't find RayGun's breakdance anywhere on youtube except for stills and 4x speed versions. Seems she's succeeded in extirpating the thing that made her famous.

The full replay of the round robin phase of the women's breaking tournament, including Raygun's three performances, is

Unless some audience shot it , commercial Olympic footage is tightly control. Also the music is owned by some other right holder who can strike it off.
To add to this, national broadcasters of every country pay eye watering amounts of cash for exclusive broadcast rights within their respective nation, for example channel 9 in Australia paid the Olympics committee 300 million AUD for exclusive broadcast rights to the next 5 Olympics. Hence the Olympics committee also invest heavily in cracking down on any illegal streams/footage on the internet.

I think we should give these Japanese athletes a break. With the history book changes in Japan the past ~20 years, the limited education these professional athletes have, and the generally nationalist lean of many sports associations, I doubt they really understand the history behind a lot of these shrines, especially the less prominent ones. Take Hayata for example, she said her reason for visiting the Kamimaze museum is to appreciate the value of life, which is in line with at least the museum's advertised purpose of emphasizing the value of life by showing the wasteful suicide runs of young kamikaze pilots.

Netizens would be right to educate her and Ishikawa/Harimoto/etc. on the history, but probably shouldn't lash out at them since they're unlikely to be trying to be militant or willfully ignorant.
Other people have answered in many perspecitves, I will add one thing that hasn't been touched upon.

The concept of "Ignorantia juris non excusat". It is a legal term based on concept that is commonly accepted. Ignorance (not knowing and being naive) is not excuse for wrong-doing. A person is always punishable regardless if he/she is truely ignorant or pretend to be. That is how things work in the world.

The everyday example is, if someone stepped on another person's toe, he/she must immediately applogize, maintaining silence or claiming "I did not see" is not enough and will certainly attract "attack". This is common sense.
