People will choke. American choke multiple times. The key is they have so many event, so many other chance that these choking don't matter.
That still does not compare to the men's high jump when the US jumper refused to share a gold medal. That's next level.
Even though China didn't end up at the top of the medal table, watching Chinese athletes win 44 gold medals made me feel so proud to be Chinese...
It also made me so happy to see our friends in Pakistan, Serbia, etc. win gold medals.
To be honest, it's been an incredibly fun two weeks for me. I think I'll start following the competitions for certain sports like swimming and gymnastics before the 2028 games.

If weightlifting wasn't downscaled for some reason China would finish this Olympics the first.
If I stop complaining, China has much to celebrate. This is the first time it breached 40 without having a home field advantage. China also surpassed its tally in Tokyo despite tougher competition and the change in weightlifting.
